November 8, 1791.

    John Smith took oath of Commissioner of the Peace, oath of Oyer and Terminer
and oath to support the Constitution of the United States.

    The Grand Jury presented the following:

    John Depew, selling of liquors;

    Overseers of the bridge below widow Henderson's;

    Overseers of the road leading from Town to Catawba at James Rowland's Ford;

    Same from the Stone House to the Big Lick;

    Same from Nicholas Carper's to William Watts' fence;

    Same from Jacob Vineyard's to the Franklin County Line.

    Christopher Damrell and James Williamson fined for not attending to serve as
jurymen.
