John Smith took oath of Commissioner of the Peace, oath of Oyer and Terminer and oath to support the Constitution of the United States. The Grand Jury presented the following: John Depew, selling of liquors; Overseers of the bridge below widow Henderson's; Overseers of the road leading from Town to Catawba at James Rowland's Ford; Same from the Stone House to the Big Lick; Same from Nicholas Carper's to William Watts' fence; Same from Jacob Vineyard's to the Franklin County Line. Christopher Damrell and James Williamson fined for not attending to serve as jurymen.
