William Neelly took the oath of Commissioner of the Peace, oath of fidelity, and oath to support the Constitution of the United [sic] License granted Thos. Harman to keep an ordinary at his house. License granted Henry Solomon to keep an ordinary at his house. Wm. Davidson took the oath of Fidelity, oath of Commissioner of the Peace, and oath to support the Constitution of the United States. License granted Jacob Carper to keep an ordinary at his house. Wm. Taylor admitted Deputy Sheriff. James Hulce, Abraham Beard and James Anderson fined for not appearing to serve as jurymen. The grand jury presented the following: Surveyors of the road from Fincastle to Banjamin West's; surveyors of the road from John Mills' smithshop to tho plantation of Dr. John Wood; surveyor of tho road from John Webb's Mill across the mountain to Isaac Taylor's mill on Craigs Creek, not keeping same in repair. Henry Burom, breaking the Sabbath Day by making a common practice of going to Peter Miller's Mill and carrying bags of grain to and from the same. Sarah Emmons, being delivered of a base born child. George Graybill, retailing liquors without license. Peter Crush, retailing liquors without license. May 12, 1792. Capt. Joseph Paxton granted leave to build a grist mill upon his own land. Thos. Welch exempted from paying County and Parish levies. John Neelly appointed overseer of the Poor. John Drake appointed Surveyor of the Road. Edward Mcdonald, John Neelly, Hugh Allen and John Mills qualified as Overseers of the Poor. David Kean appointed Overseer of the Road. Sampson Sawyers, Jr., appointed Constable in Capt. Estill's Co. License granted John Graybill to keep an ordinary at his house. Joseph Pryor appointed Major in the Militia. Chriatian [sic] Shaver appointed Surveyor of the Road. John Glenna appointed Surveyor of the Road. David Wade appointed Commissioner to view property taken under executions by the Sheriff of this County.
