James Tapscott, William Wilson, William Anderson, William Taylor and John Neelly appointed on the Commission of the Peace. April 16, 1795. John Allen qualified as member of the Commission of the Peace. William McClenachan resigns his commission as Colonel Commandant of Militia. John Cartmill same as Major. Henry Cartmill same as Captain. Martin McFerran, Joseph Haynes and Samuel Mitchell elected Overseers of the Poor in the Lower Battalion. William McClenachan, Thomas Rowland and James Rowland appointed Overseers of the Poor in the Upper Battalion. Road established from the fording on James River, via Kimberlan's Mill, James Cloyd's, to the main road. Peter F. Trenis granted license to keep an ordinary at his house in Pattonsburg. Samuel McClure resigns as Captain of the Militia. Robert Fresham placed under bond to keep the peace; Samuel Kennedy and Henry Bowyer securities. Samuel Dew appointed to view the public buildings erected at the Sweet Springs. Allen Gulliford appointed Surveyor of the Highway.
