Wm. McDonald resigns as Captain of Militia. Joseph Eakins resigns as Lieutenant of the Militia. Elizabeth Duden bound to Henry Switzer. The grand jury presented the following: Surveyors of the Roads as follows: from Pattonsburg through Purgatory; from the forks of the road from Johnathan Woods' old shop to Shepherd Ford on James River; from Town to Andrew Henry's; from forks of Catawba and James Rivers Road to Catawba near James Rowland's; from Pryors Ford on James River to Joshua Bean's; from James Dalzell's; from forks of Jennings Creek to the Big Road. James Matten Early, John Miller, Matthew Harvey, Samuel Kennedy, Thomas King, John McCreery and John Gofford for obstructing passage of the streets. Henry Wax for not keeping mill dam in repair. Surveyor of the road from tho courthouse to Wax's Mill Dam. Surveyor of the Road from James Dalzell's to Thomas Madison's. November 11, 1796 Samuel Kennedy granted license to keep an ordinary at his house in Fincastle. William McDonald bound to John Tate. November 13, 1795 William Kyle and Samuel Kinnerly appointed valuers of property taken on execution.
