The grand jury presented the following: The following Surveyors of the Road: from Town to Major Rowland's; from Major Rowland's to the County line; from the Franklin line to Fincastle; from John Pitzer's to Pattonsburg; from John Webb's to Fincastle; from Abner Howell's on the Bedford line to the Big Lick; from John Hays' near the Bent Mountain to Tosh's Ford on Roanoak, for not keeping roads in repair. George Gish, Thomas Price, George Spotts and Boston Shaver, retailing liquor without licenses. Joseph Grammer bound to James Gohun, blacksmith. Polly Jarals bound to James Harvey. Charles Beale admitted Deputy Sheriff. John Preston fined for not attending as juror. Humphrey Keys granted license to keep ordinary at his house.
