September 11, 1798

   William McMullen, Jr., appeared to answer complaint for begetting a base born
child on the body of Elizabeth Finney, and overseers of the poor ordered to bind
out said child to William McMullen, Sr., to learn the trade of a weaver.

    Philip Gretner appointed Surveyor of the Highway.

    Road established one mile from Crieleys Gap, taking the left turn of the old
way, thence crossing land of Frederick Black near the Irishman's Gap, till it
intersects the Hilstine Road.

   Nathan Withers, son of Jean Withers, decd, bound to James Harvey, to learn
the trade of Nailer.

    Peter Noftsinger appointed Surveyor of the Highway.

    Robert Harvey appointed Surveyor of the Highway.

    William Preston take3 oath as Captain in the Militia.

    Robert Dalzell takes as Lieutenant in the Militia.

    David Shanks takes oath as Ensign in the Militia.

    Jacob Moyers allowed $20.00 for the support of Sarah Guiss, while she was
ill with small pox.


September 12, 1798.

   James Flora exempted from payment of Parish and County levies on account of
his age and infirmities.
