The grand jury presented the following: True bill against Daniel Denney True bill against John Smyth. Presentment against Robert Rowland, dismissed. Presentment against Jeremiah Pate, dismissed. John Riddlesbarger fined for not appearing to serve as a juryman. John and Cornelius Pates & Co., granted license to keep an ordinary at their house. August 14, 1799 License granted Michael Book to keep an ordinary at his house. Samuel Steel and John Legg fined for failing to attend as jurymen. James Davis placed under bond for his good behavior. John McCury, Joseph Polk, Thomas Churchwill, John Newill and Samuel Steel fined for failing to attend as jurymen. Henry Fridley, Thomas and George Sickles bound to William Preston to be taught the trade of nailors. ers [sic] of the Revenue Tax. August 15, 1799 Jacob Clapsaddle bound to keep the peace, his father George Clapsaddle security. George Clapsaddle placed under bond for his good behavior. Ordered that Nancy Readman be three times ducked by the Sheriff of this County at the public ducking stool. James Breckinridge, Matthew Harvey and William Anderson appointed commissioners for repairing the old stocks or erecting new ones, as they may think most advisable.
