Present. James Trimble, Wm. Fleming, Philip Love, Andrew Woods, Wm. McKee & Geo. Skillern, Gent. Justices. Patrick Shorkey proved a certificate according to law for eight hundred and eighty seven pounds of hemp. David Kellscy the same for two thousand and fifty eight pounds of hemp. Hugh Moore the same for nine hundred and ninety two pounds of hemp. Ord. that James Hendson, John Turpin, John Clendenald, Solomon Whitt and William Hutcheson or any three of them lay off and divide the several surveyors' precincts and appoint the tithables to work under them on the aforesaid road. William Fleming produced a commission from his Excellency the Governor appointing him Colonel in the County of Botetourt, whereupon he took the usual oaths to his Majesty's Person & Govt., repeated and subscribed the test &c. William Crow, John Stewart, Peter McClenachan, Wm. McKee, James Ward & James Henderson produced commissions as Capt. and took the usial oaths and repeated and subscribed tho test &c. Order that Thomas Madison, John Archer and Mathew Brachen, being first sworn, do view the way from Capt. John Stewart's to Sand Creek Gap and make report of the same to the court. Ordered that James Estill, William Hutcheson and David Frazer, having been first sworn, do view the way from William Hutcheson on the head of Hund's Creek to the Pine Spring and make report of the same to the court. Thomas Willson proved a certificate according to law for two thousand seven hundred and ninety eight pounds of hemp. Ord. that the court be adjd. till the court in course.
