Present: James Trimble, Geo. Skillern, Wm. McClenachan and Adam Smyth, Gentlemen. The said Susanna being brought to the bar and arraigned of the felony aforesaid, pleaded thereto not guilty, whereupon sundry witnesses were sworn and examined touching the said felony and the prisoner heard in her defence. On consideration whereof the court are of opinion that she is guilty thereof and that she ought to be tried for the same in the General Court, and is removed to goal. James Cuncy, John Jackson and Samuel Adams severally came into court and acknowledged themselves indebted to our Sovereign Lord the King, his heirs and successors, in the sum of one hundred pounds each of their respective goods, and chattels, lands, and tenements to be levied and to our said Lord the King rendered. But upon this condition: that if they should make their personal appearance in the Capitol in the City of Williamsburg on the sixth day of the next court to give evidence against said prisoner and then not depart from there without leaving said court, then this obligation to be void. Ordered that the court be adjourned.
