Present. John Bowyer, James Trimble, Wm. Fleming, Wm. Madison, Geo. Skillern & William McKee, Gent. Justices. Mary McNeel to be summoned to court to shew cause why her children shall not bo taken from her and bound out according to law. Mary Ann Foster to serve her Master William Cross accdg. to law for having a bastard child. Edward Peyon is apptd. Constable on the Tinkhold lands in the room of John Cledenold, who is dischd. from that office. Also James Aston on Indian Creek and Joseph Soap on Indian Creek are apptd. Constables. Adam Peck is apptd. Constable about the courthouse in the room of Simon Alderson, who is dischd. from that office. Ord. that the court be adjd. to six o'clock this evening. John Bowyer At a court continued & held for Botetourt County at six o'clock this evening. Present. John Bowyer, George Skillern, James Trimble, Richard May and Adam Smyth, Gentlemen. Ordered that this court be adjourned till tomorrow morning, eight o'clock. This proceeding was signed by John Bowyer At a court contd. & held for said County 15th of February, 1775. Present. John Bowyer, James Trimble, Philip Love and Adam Smyth, Gent. Justices. Colo. John Smith is exempted from paying levies for the future. John Bowman took the usual oaths to his Majesty's Person and Government, repeated & subscribed the test, and took the oath of Justice of the Peace of the County Court in Chancery, and of Oyer and Terminer. Ord. that the church wardens of Botetourt Parish bind out Elizabeth Hopkins, a bastard child of Nancy-Hopkins according to law. Ord. that the court be adjd. till court in course.
