Present: Geo. Skillern, Adam Smyth, Win. Ward, Martin McFarran, Samuel Eason & William Hamilton, Gent. Justices. Wm. Scott is apptd. Ensign in Captain Baird's Co. of Militia. Mathew Amacks who hath lost the use of his arm by a ball he received in the Guilford Battle is exempt from paying any County levy in future. Ord. that Ebenezer Budinet be committed to prison till he can make it appear to this court that he is not guilty of desertion from the American Army, and that he is a good & peaceable member of society, or give bond with approved security in the sum of fifty pounds specie that he will comply with this order. Joseph Snodgrass, son of Wm. Snodgrass, is apptd. an Ensign in Capt. May'8 Co. of Militia. John Hawkins is apptd. an Ensign in Capt. Looney's Co. of Militia. Thomas Lum and Wm. Neelly are apptd. Commissioners of the Grain Tax for the ensuing year. Ordered that the Sheriff of this County advertize and hold an election for Overseers of the Poor for this County the next court day in court. Ord. that this ct. be adjd.
