Written: January 1782

At a court held for Botetourt County the tenth day of January, 1782.

Present: Patrick Lockhart, Wm. Ward, Wm. Davidson & Martin McFarran, Gent.
Justices.

    A licence is grtd. Tolliver Craig to keep an ordinary at the Big Lick in
this County, he having entd. into bond in the sum of 50 lbs. accdg. to law.

    Stephen May, a Deputy Sheriff of this County, resigned his office by consent
of the court.

    James McCaul took the oath of a Deputy Sheriff of this County.

     A report of a road made & retd. by Win. Ritchey, Joseph & Wm. Kyles from
Vinsandt's Mill to the ford of Catawba at James Rowland's, ordered that the road
be established agreeable to the said report, and it is ordered that Wm. Kyle be
surveyor thereof, who with the tithables annexed to the said report is to open
and keep said road in repair as the law directs.

    Nicholas Sharkey is apptd. a Constable in Capt. Pryor's Co. of Militia in
the room of Joseph Damrel whom the court dischd. from acting any further in that
office.

    Ord. that the ct. be adjd. till court in course. The mins. of these predgs.
were signed by
