Present: Geo. Skillern, Rcvd. Adam Smyth, John Baller, and William Neelly, Gent. Justices. An additional Commission of the Peace and Dedimus directed to James Robinson, the Revd. Caleb Wallace, Joseph Looney, Robert Harvey, Saml. Todd and Mathew Willson were presented in court and read. Whereupon Saml. Todd & Mathew Willson, Gent., took the oaths of a Justice of the Peace of a Justice of the County Court in Chancery and of Justice of Oyer and Terminer. David May is apptd. to lay off and allott the tithables to work on the road from the County line to the Big Lick under John Depew, Surveyor thereof. Moses Preston, Surveyor of the Road from Thomas Akins' Mill to Em. Commack's, and the tithables who formerly wrought thereon under him are to open and keep the same in repair as the law directs. Ord. that Captain John Baller take in a list of the inhabitants within the bounds of his Company of Militia and return an acct. thereof to the Clerk of this County on or before the tenth day of October next. William Hamilton the same within the bounds of Captain Galloway's Company of Militia. Martin McFarran the same within the bounds of Captain Heard's Company of Militia. Saml. Todd the same within the bounds of Capt. Pryor's Company. Mathew Willson the same within the bounds of Capt. Smith's Company of Militia. Geo. Skillern the same within the bounds of Capt. Cartnut's Company of Militia. Wm. Ward the same within the bounds of Capt. Mills' Company of Militia. Pat Lockhart the same within the bounds of Capt. Robinson's Company of Militia. John Armstrong the same within the bounds of Captain May's do. Geo. Rutledge the same within the bounds of Capt. Watterson's Co. of Militia. Saml. Eason the same within the bounds of his own Company of Militia. Capt. Martain the same within the bounds of his own do. Capt. James Barnett do. Wm. Walton same within the bounds of Capt. Lewis' Co. of Militia. Wm. Neelly within the bounds of Capt. Pawling's do. Robt. Poage within the bounds of Capt. Neelly's do. Robert Harvey the same within the bounds of Capt. Taylor's and Looney's Companies of Militia. Ord. that the Revd. Adam Smyth, Pat Lockhart, James Rowland and Robert Harvy with the County Surveyor survey the lands the property of this County adjoining the courthouse & divide the same into such convenient parcells as they may think proper to be disposed of for the benefit of the County and sell the same after giving reasonable notice thereof. Joseph Frazer is apptd. Capt. in the room of Capt. Beard who hath resigned that office; John Maiddraugh Ensign and Wm. Scott Lieutenant. Ord. that the ct. be adjd. till the court in course.
