BOTETOURT COUNTY, VA – DEED: CRAWFORD, 1815 ----???---- Botetourt County, Virginia Deed Book 15, pp 635-636 LDS0030708 Crawford to Crawford - Deed p 635 This Indenture made this twenty eighth day of February in the year of Christ One thousand Eight hundred & fifteen Between Andrew Cr- awford of the one part and James Crawford of the other part both of the County of Botetourt Witnesseth that the said Andrew Crawford for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred Dollars money of the United States to him in hand paid by the said James Crawford at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & confess hath granted bargained sold & confirmed and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said James Crawford and his heirs a certain tract or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County of Boteto- urt on Craigs Creek containing one hundred & thirteen acres be the same more or less it being the land whereon the said Andrew Crawford now lives and was conveyed to him by William Preston (deceased) by Deed bearing date [blank] & recorded in the County Court of Botetourt Beginning at two pines on the East side of the Creek running thence South twenty [copy error?-should be seventy] degrees West sixty four poles crossing the Creek to a white oak and pine. Thence North thirty Degrees West sixty six poles to a Spanish oak and a white oak thence North nine degrees West two hundred poles to three white oak thence sixty five degrees East sixty poles to four poplars growing from a Root on the West side of the Creek thence South fifty degrees East one hundred & [copy errors?-should be fifteen degrees, and two hundred & sixty six] sixty six poles crossing the Creek to the beginning with all its appurtenances to the said James Crawford and his heirs for the sole use of the said James Crawford and his heirs forever and the said Andrew Crawford the said tract or parcel of land with all its appurtances to the said James Crawford & his heirs doth hereby bind himself and his heirs to warrant & forev- er defend against the claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever.
