THIS DEED, Made this 25th day of September, 1905, between Telemacus D. Smith, the sole surviving heir of David Smith, and his wife Jane Smith, of Galla, Va., Botetourt County, Virginia parties of the first part, and Henry O. Smith and John W. Bear, parties of the second part. Witnesseth, The said parties of the first part, by the parties of the second part, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, do hereby grant and convey with General Warranty of title, unto the said parties of the second part. all that certain tract or parcel of land containing sixty six (66) acres, lying and being in the County of Botetourt in the state of Virginia, on the north side of James River, and bounded as follows, to -wit: Beginning at three white oak saplings on a hill corner to the land of Samuel Walker and running thence N. 63 W. 88 poles to a white oak and hickory, S. 70 W. 80 poles to three pines, S. 33 E. 68 poles to two white oaks. On the top of an high steep bank of the River, thence along and down the said bank to a red oak in the low grounds, thence down the River 40 poles to a wlanut, corner to said Smith's patent land and with a line of the same N. 10 W 32 poles toa sassafrass, walnut and hickory saplins, thence N. 23 E. 88 poles to the beginning. It being the same tract of land which was granted to David Smith by the Commonwealth of Virginia on the 3rd day of August 1771 and which Grant is on record in the Land Office at Richmond, Virginia.
