Botetourt County widow Florence 10 pounds received through Patrick Lockhart for Florence Blair, May 10, 1789. Contributor's Note: Letters too hard to read, but gleaned the following: Blair was signed into the 12th regiment by Capt. Thomas Barnes for a period of three years, died in the service. Served under Capt. Bengan(?). At May Botetourt Court 1791 Florence Blair widow of Samuel Blair, late a sergeant in the 12th Virginia Regt. this day in court presented a certificate from his excellancy Beverly Randolph ____ governor of the commonwealth, certifying that the said Florence Blair is continued on the pension list with an allowance of eight pounds yearly commencing on the first day of January one thousand seven hundred ninety. It is therefore ordered that the sheriff of this county pay unto the said Florence Blair the said allowance for the year one thousand seven hundred ninety. A copy teste P. Henry Later documents certified as above. Florence Blair later resided in Jefferson County, Tennessee. Last recorded payment Sept. 30, 1830
