Obituary for William L. Page, 1927 - Botetourt Co. VA William L. Page William L. Page, 87 (DOB August 15, 1839), a Civil War veteran, died late Saturday (January 29, 1927) at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. L. Crawford of Catawba. Mr. Page lived near Buchanan in Botetourt County and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Fincastle. He is survived by one son, R. L. Page of Roanoke, and five daughters, Mrs (Ella S.) E. L Crawford of Catawba: Mrs (Julia) Samuel J. Dunman, Mrs (Nannie B.) Joseph A. Markham, of Roanoke; Mrs (Elizabeth M.) J. A. Smith, of Buchanan, and Mrs. (Willie A.) Harry Smith of Salem; and four sisters, Mrs. Robert Hontz, Mrs Haney Falls, and Mrs J. A. Trout of Roanoke, and Mrs. John Gish of Fincastle. Mr. Page had thirty-five grandchildren and thirty-on great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend E. N. Tarpley, of Salem, at the Back Creek Church near Lithia, Botetourt County, this morning at 11 o’clock. Interment will be in the Back Creek Church Cemetery. The funeral procession will leave Salem at nine a.m. by automobile.
