BOTETOURT COUNTY, VA - OBITUARIES - Mrs. Charlotte Rogers, 29 Jun 1951 ----¤¤¤---- 100-year-old woman passes Mrs. Charlotte Rogers, colored, died at her home five miles west of here last Friday morning, after having passed the century mark. She was born December 25, 1850 and lived in Botetourt all her life, on December 24, 1872, she married William Rogers and 15 children were born to them, nine of them survive; Archie Rogers, Zanesville, Ohio; Sanders Rogers, Fincastle; Goldsboro Rogers, Pittsburgh; Gilbert Rogers, Logan, W. Va.; Mrs. Malinda Watson, Gary, Ind.; Mrs. Naomi Crutchfield, Roanoke; Mrs. Annie Beverly, Mrs. Iona __(unreadable)___, and Mrs. (George A) Helen Thompson, Fincastle. Eighty grandchildren and 79 great - grandchildren also survive. Funeral was held Tuesday at 2:30 at Lapsley Run Baptist Church by Rev. O. W. Nowlin.
