VA (Nicholas Carper, born 1749) Botetourt County Circuit Court Clerk's Office, Will Book B page 333 Nicholas Carper Will By permission of Almighty God I Nicholas Carper of Botetourt County and State of Virginia being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and ordain this my las Will and Testament in manner following, that is to say, first it is my will that all such debts as I shall justly owe at the time of my disease be in the first place paid by my Executor herein after named. & as to my estate both real and personal I dispose of in manner following, that is to say, I give devise and bequeath unto my dear and beloved wife, Elizabeth Carper one ho__e choise of what I shall own at my disease, one Cow Choise out of the Stock, a saddle and bridle a bed and bedsted: the above mentioned property to be at her disposal as she may see cause. Also a malatto girl named Milly until my said wifes death then said girl to be sold and eaquelly devided amount my heirs hereafter named together with all the property that his mother may own at his disease: also one third of the price of two Lots in Fincasel when sold formerly owned by his feather - All the above property she is to have exclusive of her dower according to law All the rest of my estate whither real or personal in pussession, ______, remainder or expectancy I give and devise unto Jacob Carper & Benjamin Carper my Executors as herein after appointed, and thare lives to the _____ upon the trust and for the intent and purposass herein after expressed & contained of and considering the same, that is to say, that my sd executors do make sale of all my Said Property hereby visting in them in such manner and at such time as to them may seem most advantageous and advisable and the proceeds thereof after paying my just debts to devid eaqually & share and share a like amongst my following children, sons and daughters, viz, Elizabeth Harvey, Jacob Carper, Henry Carper, Benjamin Carper, Mary McFerran, Joseph Carper, Sally Holestine & Isaac Carper It is my will and devise and I hereby direct and appoint that my sons, Jacob Carper & Benjamin Carper is to bee my Executors of this my last will & Testament thereby making null and void all former wills by me made, and do disclose this onely to be my Last Will and Testament In Testamony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelfth day of Febary in the year of Christ 1811 published and declared in the prisants of ___ Nicholas Carper *seal* Jacob Hons Jacob Waggoner John Summerfield Henry Holstine N.B.
