Headley", 1997 Agreeable to an order made by the County Court of Botetourt at the November Term 1849, appointing the undersigned Commifsioners for the purpose of dividing the Slaves belonging to the estate of Nathan Lackey amongst the legatees of said Estate For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of said order the undersigned met on the premises on Saturday the 29th day of December 1849, and being shown the following slaves, to wit: Joe, valued at $500, Eliza $350, Henry $600, Charlotte $500, Ann $375, Alexander $375, George $350, Martha $200, and John $150, making 9 in number, making an aggregate of $3400, and six distributees (to wit: Isabella Thompson formerly Isabella Lackey - Robert A. Lackey - James B. Lackey - Mary Jane Lackey - Nathan A. Lackey and Thomas Lackey and each distributive share amounting to $566.66 we proceeded to divide said negroes in the following manner: To Thompson and wife: Eliza and child John - $350 for Eliza and $150 for John, making $500 3 Robert A. Lackey: Charlotte @ $500 3 James B. Lackey, boy Henry @ $600 3 Mary Jane Lackey, Ann and George @ $725 3 Nathan A. Lackey, boy Joe @ $500 3 Thomas G. Lackey, Alexander and Martha @ $575 The three distributees (to wit-) James B. Lackey - Mary Jane Lackey and Thomas G. Lackey, who have received more than their due share is expected to pay to the other 3 distributees the amount they have received over their share in order to make them all equal to the sum of $566.66, all of this is respectfully submitted.
