Born in Norton, Oct. 28, 1936, the daughter of Albert and Mary Ann Wade, Jackie had lived most of her life in Bristol Virginia. She was a member of the East Bristol Baptist Church. Jackie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jimmy Joe Balthis; two sons, Gordon Balthis, Bristol Tennessee and Joel Balthis and wife Amy, Youngsville, N.C.; two daughters, Karen Dutton and husband Jack, Bristol Tennessee and Jan Hawk and husband Tim, Kingsport; brother, David Wade and wife Jane, Bluff City; sister, Betty Lyons, Plant City, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Noah, Hannah and Henry Dutton, Amanda and Megan Balthis, Jarrod, Emily and Rebekah Balthis; great-grandchild, Ashlyn Stewart; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dan Birchfield officiating. The committal will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Eastern Heights Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henry Dutton, Jarrod Balthis, Pat McClellan, Bob Hall, Lincoln Chafin, Dewayne Chafin and Mike Mumpower. A special thanks to Dr. Bernard Grunstra, Dr. Matthew Beasey and Dr. Donald Sweitzer. Online condolences may be sent at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.
