Mr. Buckles was born June 17, 1952, in Dante, Va., a son of the late Claude and Wilma Buckles. He had lived most of his life in the Bristol area and was an employee of Dana Corporation. Mr. Buckles was a graduate of Castlewood High School Class of 1970 and from LMU Class of 1974. He was an avid bowler and had bowled on several leagues at Interstate Bowl. Mr. Buckles is survived by his wife, Julie Buckles; one son, Timothy L. Buckles and fiancÈ, Ellen Brooks; three stepchildren, Michael Westmoreland and his wife Jaslyn, Loren Poplin and Timothy Poplin; one grandson, Cameron Westmoreland; one sister, Diane Hileman and husband David; three brothers, Buddy Buckles and wife Vickie, Lynn Buckles and Lee Buckles and wife Teresa; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service and entombment will be held Saturday, March 22, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the Mountain View Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Haynes officiating. Pallbearers will be Landon Mumpower, Pernell Wagner, Eugene Scardo, James Gilley, Joe Davis and Randy Gross. Online condolences may be sent at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.
