Clintwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. E. E. Gray Jr. ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- E. E. "Pete" Gray, 76, of 398 Deaverview Road died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002. Mr. Gray was born in Bristol Tennessee and was the son of the late E.E. "Pete" and Nell Miller Gray Sr. He was retired from Sky Lane Bowling Center. He is survived by a daughter, Vickie Gray Coleman and her husband, Bill, of Bristol Tennessee; son, Eddy G. Gray and his wife, Penny, of Blountville; four grandchildren, Stefani and Anthony Coleman and Krista and Logan Gray; sisters Arthel Gray Capps of Topock, Arizona, Jean Adams of Kingsport and Peggy Gray Nicar and her husband, Bob, of Bristol; and brother, Doug Gray and wife, Gwen, of Durham, N.C. Information courtesy of Weaver Funeral Home. David Icenhour David Icenhour, 97, of 329 Randolph St., Bristol, Va., went to be with the Lord Dec. 27, 2002, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born May 6, 1905, in Watauga County, N.C., and had made his home in the Bristol area most of his life. He was a son of the late John and Elizabeth Moretz Icenhour. Mr. Icenhour was a member of Belle Meadows Baptist Church, a retired employee with Bristol Door and Lumber Co. and was an avid gardener up until the late 90's when his health failed him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillias Houser Icenhour; a daughter, Evelyn Lambert; a grandson, Timothy Moretz; two sisters, Maggie Brown and Laura Alexander; and six brothers, Grady, Roy, Alonza, Robert, Ray and James. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Cookie Icenhour of Luthersville, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Billie Moretz of Abingdon, Marie and Jimmy Pullen of Bristol Virginia and Christine and Charles Wingate of Bristol Virginia; brother, Haskell Icenhour of Bristol Virginia; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Jackson WAYNESVILLE, N.C. -- Jeffrey Jenkins Jackson died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Born in Virginia, he was the son of the late James Donald and Mary Willis Jackson, and had lived in Haywood County for the past four years. He was a supervisor with KCB Construction and attended Waynesville Christian Fellowship. Surviving are one daughter, Jenessa J. Marshall GLADE SPRING -- Mr. Albert Eugene Marshall, 85, died Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon. He was preceded in death by four brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild. Mr. Marshall was of the Methodist faith, a retired farmer and avid gardener. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Farris Funeral Service is serving the family of Mrs. Minnie Gay Mitchell. Thomas F. Mottram DONCASTER, England -- Thomas Frederick Mottram died Dec. 25, 2002. He was born Oct. 10, 1927, in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, a son of Thomas Wilfred Mottram and grandson of Sir Thomas Mottram, C.B.E. Mr. Mottram followed his father and grandfather into the British Army. He joined the Royal Welch Fusiliers and saw action at the invasion of Normandy in June 1944. In September 1944, he landed at Arnhem, Holland, as part of the first air landing brigade and was mentioned in dispatches for his act of gallantry against overwhelming enemy forces. In 1945, he fought against the Imperial Japanese Army in Burma and between 1947 and 1948, was stationed in Malaya as part of anti-terrorist operations. He retired from the Army in 1950 as a captain. He began a 40-year career with the coal mining industry, retiring in 1990 as colliery manager of one of the top producing coal mines in Great Britain. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Mottram of Doncaster; a daughter, Anna Johns and husband, Roger, of Knoxville; sons Thomas Mottram and wife, Jill, of Durham, England, Edward Mottram of Doncaster, Nicholas Mottram and wife, Lynsey, of Nottingham, England, and Richard Mottram and wife, Joanne, of York, England; five granddaughters, Katie Johns of Knoxville, Emma, Rosie and Tessa Mottram of Durham, England, and Alison Mottram of Doncaster. Sexton DAVENPORT, Va. -- Mrs. Jessica Lynn Barton Sexton, 39, of the Back Hurricane section passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, in a Grundy hospital. Born Sept. 13, 1963, in Baltimore, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Barton Jr. and Verna Bethel Wilson Barton. She had spent most of her life in the area and was a 1981 graduate of Council High School. She was formerly employed on the production line at Lear Corp. She was a member of Boyd Ratliff Chapel and also attended Russell Fork Chapel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Brandon Cook; and one sister, Mary Magdelene Barton. Survivors include her husband, Charles Sexton of the home; three stepsons, Charles Wayne Sexton, Cody Leon Sexton and Dustin Dakota Sexton, all of the home; four sisters, Brenda Sue Wilson of Big A Mountain, Va., Betty Lou Crabtree of Finney, Va., Nina Ruth Duty of Back Hurricane and Melissa Green of Vansant, Va.; two brothers, Freddie Charles "Boe" Barton of Eastman, Ga., and Rev. Avery C. Barton of Council, Va.; and 11 nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with Rev. Clyde Lambert and Rev.
