Baker CLINTWOOD -- Charles D. Baker, 79, passed away at his home on April 4, 2003. He was a graduate of VPI. in 1945. He retired from the soil conservation service in 1981. He was also employed by Nicewonder Coal Corporation for 16 years. Mr. Baker was also a veteran of World War II and retired from the U.S. Army Reserve. He was a member of the Clintwood United Methodist Church and was active in his church and civic activities. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maloy C. (Trig) and Mag Priode Baker and his sister, Carrie Lee Harl. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Linkous Baker; children: Dick Baker and wife Sherry of Aventura, Fla.; Jeffery L. Baker of West Fargo, N.D.; Rex and Donna Baker of Clintwood; Brian and Brenda Baker of Clintwood; Kenneth Baker of Richmond, Ky.; Willene Baker of Clintwood; Gene Baker of Knoxville; Sally and David Drake of Knoxville; and Susan and Bryan Lambert of Knoxville; grandchildren are Kristi Baker Fleming, Stacie Baker Abeita, Gredel Mullins, Cassa Baker, Jennifer and Jill Luffey, Charlie Baker, Lydia Baker Leap, Lindsy Baker, Anthony Dotson, Angela Dotson, Maggie Dotson Hobbs, Ty Baker, Kacie Margaret Drake, Mary Frances Drake, Alex Joanne Lambert, Houston Perry Lambert; great-grandchildren are Hailey Mullins, Emma Fleming, Quinten Mullins, Issaiah Aleita, Shannon Abeita, Maloy Mullins, Kyla Ellis Coles, Pierston Hobbs and A.J. Lorraine Guinn Lorraine Jones Guinn, of Bristol Tennessee, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at her home. She was born in Thacker, W.Va., a daughter of the late George H. and Pearl June Coleman Jones, and had lived in Bristol since 1935. She was a level III educator and retired from teaching at Bristol Tennessee High School in 1991. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught the Anchor Sunday School Class and was a member of the Ruth Circle. She was also a member of the Women's History Club. She was the widow of Henry V. "Red" Guinn and was also preceded in death by a brother, Peter M. Jones. Survivors include her daughter, Betsey Guinn Brown and her husband Bob of Bluff City; her son, Henry Alan Guinn and his wife Denise of Long Island, N.Y.; a brother, George H. Jones of Tyler, Texas; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Lorraine Guinn and Daniel J. Guinn; and five nieces and nephews. Hill Stanley Gordon "Stan" Hill, 52, of Bristol Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2003, in the Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville. Stan was born Feb. 25, 1951, in Oneida, Tenn., a son of the late Grover Cleveland Hill and Opal Blankenship Hill, who lives in Winfield, Tenn. Stan was employed in management by Orkin Pest Control. Rasnake CLEVELAND, Va. -- Mrs. Cynthia Ethel Rasnake, 86, passed away Friday, April 4, 2003, in a Lebanon hospital. Born Jan. 27, 1917, in Buchanan County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Russell and Maudie Street Massie. She had lived in the Cleveland area for the past 21 years and was a member of the United Methodist Church at Cleveland, Va. She was a certified nurse's aide, having been employed at Crestview Nursing Home at Shelbyville, Ky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Crabtree and Pearl Barton; five brothers, Foster Massie, Clarence Massie, Elijah Massie, Hash Massie and Rev. John Massie; and two grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Carl Rasnake of the home; two daughters: Lois Walls of Russellville, Ky.; and Edna Aldridge of Naples, Fla.; six sons: Ray Price of Stanford, Ky.; Charles Price of Houstonville, Ky.; Oscar Price and Henry Price, both of Naples; and Tony Price and Michael Price, both of Shelbyville; two stepdaughters: Virginia Lambert of Cleveland, Va., and Irene Culbertson of Bluefield, W.Va.; two stepsons, Gary Rasnake and Lonnie Rasnake, both of Cleveland, Va.; two sisters, Mae Bottoms of Danville, Ky., and Bertha Helton of Crab Orchard, Ky.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive. Born in Houstonia, Mo., she lived most of her life in the Darwin, Va., community of Dickenson County and raised her family there. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for 69 years but attended Trinity Life Center the last years of her life. Mrs. Wallen was a graduate of Tomlinson College and Lee College, was a former teacher at the Wise County Christian School and retired from the Castlewood Christian Academy, and was a member of the Daniel Boone Trail Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was the daughter of the late Allie B. Rose and Henry T. Bowmer, and was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus L. Wallen, and a brother, Robert A. Bowmer. Surviving are her loving children: daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Ross Spenilla of Coeburn; Loretta and John Switzer of Tampa, Fla.; Judy and Malcolm Stuart of Bristol Tennessee; and Henrietta and Bill Lafferty of Bellaire Shores, Fla.; sons and daughter-in-law Fred and Sue Wallen and Paul Max Wallen, all of Coeburn; brothers: John F.
