Born in Kincaid, Ill., he was the son of Fred and Rose Cambruzzi Bucelluni. He attended Taylorville, Ill., schools and in 1943 joined the Army Air Corps and was stationed in Sudbury, England, with the 8th Air Force 486th bomb group. He served as a toggelier on B-17s making 32 missions over Germany and other enemy targets. After his discharge in 1945, he attended Milliken University in Decatur, Ill., graduating with a degree in business administration in 1948. He worked for Peabody Coal Company and Mason Machine until becoming plant manager of Ingersoll Rand's new manufacturing facility producing underground coal mining machinery. While in Taylorville, he served on the Board of Taylorville Saving & Loan, the school board, was a member of VFW and for many years played baritone in various concert bands. He was transferred to Pittsburgh with Ingersoll Rand as product manager and later to their plant in Bristol Virginia. While with Ingersoll, he issued a patent for a holding apparatus; a rotary tool fitting for underground mine roof bolters. In addition, he shared patents with other personnel on roof bolter equipment. He retired in 1987 and moved to Hot Springs Village. Surviving are his wife, Lillian (Jill) Colquhoun Bucelluni; a daughter, Nancy Bucelluni of Chicago; a son, Brett Bucelluni of Tulsa, Okla; a brother, Relio Cambruzzi of Taylorville; a sister, Edith Ciotti of Allen Park, Mich.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cox, 67, resident of 103 Broadway, died Friday, April 25, 2003, in MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital following a short illness. Born March 18, 1936, in Bristol Tennessee, to Cleo and Nettie Pearl (Ballinger) Cox, he had been a Shelby resident for 20 years. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he had served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Cox was the owner of the Shelby Sewing Machine Repair Shop. A member of the First Church of God, he enjoyed yard work, flowers, animals, children, rummage sales and going to fairs. Survivors include his wife, Connie (McKenzie) Cox, whom he wed Aug. 9, 1983; one daughter, Melissa McCracken of Bristol Tennessee; one son and daughter-in- law, Jeffrey and Scarlet Cox of Bristol Virginia; one stepson and stepdaughter- in-law, Shannon and Lisa Holland of Shelby; one stepdaughter, Kim Holland of Shelby; three grandchildren, Amanda and Derrick McCracken and Lauren Cox; four step-grandchildren, Ericka and Tyson Holland and Courtney and Andrew Holland; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Milburn and Stella Cox of Bristol Tennessee; and John Emery and Jean Cox of Mansfield; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Randy Cox; one stepson, Larry Holland; three sisters; and five brothers. Elaine Louella Dale Elaine Louella Dale passed away at Bristol Regional Medical Center on April 23, 2003. Mrs. Dale was born to Fred and Effie Mae Angove Preble in Lee, Maine, on March 3, 1921. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. Mrs. Dale was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; a brother; two sons, Gordon L. Hesseltine and Hale F. Hesseltine; and a daughter, Gail Hesseltine. She is survived by her husband, Lowell Dale of Bristol Virginia; two daughters: Dawn Snodgrass and husband John of Bluff City; and Sharon Looke and husband Jim of North Lauderdale, Fla.; two sons: Paul Hesseltine and wife Roberta of Garland, Maine; and Kern Hasseltine of Maine; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Edgemere Church of God in Baltimore and attended Deliverance Pentecostal Church of God while living in Saltville. She was a U.S. Army veteran. Mrs. Davis had lived the last 40 years in Baltimore. Survivors: her husband, Jimmie L. Davis, Saltville; one son, Jimmie L. Patricia Eggleston MARION -- Patricia DeShazo Eggleston, 83, widow of John G. (Jack) Eggleston, died Friday, April 25, 2003, in Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 20, 1919, in Roanoke and was the daughter of the late Claudia Pratt and Richard Tazewell DeShazo. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard DeShazo Jr. Mrs. Eggleston was retired as the clerk of the Smyth County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. She was a member of the Royal Oak Presbyterian Church and served as the secretary-treasurer of the Royal Oak Women of the Church. She was the organizer and past president of the Wilderness Road Garden Club. She also was past president of the Pink Ladies of Smyth County Community Hospital. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John Jr. and Carol Carlton Eggleston of Danville, Va.; one brother and two sisters-in-law: Dumas and Sue Harden DeShazo of Homestead, Fla.; and Dorothy Overstreet DeShazo of Bedford, Va.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and two step-great- grandchildren. She was a wonderful daughter, mother and friend who was an inspiration in faith and courage. Mrs. Honaker was a native of Russell County, Va., and had lived in the Blountville area for many years. She was the daughter of the late Charles William and Martha Price. She worked for many years at Big Jack Manufacturing and North Electric Co. She attended Wheeler United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Honaker; one daughter, Minnie Lopez; two sons, Paul Honaker and Auburn Honaker; one sister, Anne White; two brothers, Ames Price and Howard Price; and two grandsons, David Steele and David Lopez. She was a loving mother, who also loved gardening, reading and being a homemaker and farmer's wife. She opened her heart and home to help anyone who was in need. Michael Burke Huffmon BRISTOL VA -- Michael Burke Huffmon, 48, of 13932 Indiana St., Hassan Heights, died as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident that occurred March 7, 2003, near Konnarock, Va. Michael was born Feb. 23, 1955, in Ivirington, Ky., and had lived in Puerto Rico and Georgia before returning to live in Bristol. He was a 1973 graduate of John S. Battle High School and also Virginia Highlands Community College. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his parents, John and Peggy Huffmon of Bristol Virginia; one sister, Julie Taylor and her husband Michael of Blountville; and two nephews, Adam Taylor and Aaron Taylor, both of Blountville. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friends, David and Tammy Sexton, Eric Dakins and Roger Freeman. He was a gentle person who enjoyed sunsets, camping and fishing. Miller CLAYPOOL HILL, Va. -- Mr. William Russell "Bill" Miller, 62, died Thursday, April 24, 2003, at the Duke Medical Center in Durham, N.C., following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Amonate, Va., and was a son of the late Wells Russell Miller and Rebecca Clyde Adams Miller. He was a 1958 graduate of Big Creek High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He had made his home in the Claypool Hill area since 1995 and was a retired postmaster at Amonate. He was also a part-time employee of the Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands. Bill was a faithful member of Bandy Assembly of God where he served as a Sunday School teacher for many years and also served as a deacon and former Sunday School superintendent and board member. Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be remembered as a wonderful friend to many. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Greta Yvonne Blankenship Miller; and two brothers, Howard and Jack Miller. Born Feb. 23, 1927, in Russell County, a son of the late Gilbert and Millie Salyers, he was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by three daughters, Linda Mullins, Robin Compton and Paula Elizabeth Crabtree; and several brothers and sisters. He retired as a master sergeant from the U.S. Air Force with more than 20 years of service and later retired from VICC in Coeburn.
