She worked for 30 years at Wright & Lopez, Inc. (Patton Management) as well as DA Utilities in recent years. Survivors: husband, Frank Arnold of the home; sons, Mike Arnold and wife Penny, Snow Camp and Martin Arnold and wife Angie, Fairmount, Ga.; sisters, Sara Eaton Register, Tifton, Ga., Myrtice Eaton Casey, Hiram, Ga., Sylvia Eaton Hurst, Tifton and Gayle Eaton Baker, Greenville, N.C.; brothers, Melvin Eaton, Tifton, Clyde Eaton, Mill Valley, Calif., and Tony Eaton, Tifton; grandchildren, Jacob Arnold, Snow Camp and Samuel Arnold, Snow Camp; step-grandchild, Kyle Ferrin, Fairmount. Lois E. Benning BRISTOL TN -- Lois E. Benning, 78, of Bristol Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2003, in Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born and raised in Carbondale, Pa. She became a registered nurse at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia. After marrying and starting a family they lived in Pennsylvania, Baltimore and New York, moving to Bristol in 1958. She was an active member of Edgemont Presbyterian Church. She belonged to the circle and the senior fellowship group. She was known for her selfless devotion to her loving family and many friends. Survivors include her husband, Robert E. Benning; three sons, Robert E. Benning Jr. of Spring, Texas, James Russell Benning of Smyrna, Tenn., and Jeffrey W. Benning of Knoxville; one sister, Bette Collins of Williamsburg, Va.; and three grandchildren, Kristin Benning, Christopher Benning and Victoria Benning. Also surviving are one niece; and one nephew. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2003, in Glenwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Larry Stallard and Dr. Kyle Barr officiating. Holman Mr. Grady Carrol Holman, 62, of 401 Lynwood Drive, Bristol, Va., passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at his home. He was a native of Ashe County, N.C., but had made his home in Bristol for the last 54 years. He was retired from Superior Carriers and a member of the Teamsters Union Local 549 for 30 years. He was an excellent fiddler and a member of the Gene Boyd's Thursday Barbershop Jam Session. He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Ida Mae Rhoten Holman; two brothers, Glenn Holman and Marvin Holman; and two sisters, Jean Smith and Ruth Henley. Grady is survived by his wife, Barbara Tibbs Holman; two daughters, Kim Hall and Missie Lady and husband Alfred; three grandchildren, Arden Lady and Josh and Rachel Hall; sister, Jerrie White and husband James; and several nieces and nephews. (Monkey) Monk, 69, of the Crossroads section, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2003. A lifelong resident of Russell County, he was born on Feb. 6, 1934, the son of the late Henry G. and Lucille Hughes Hicks. His grandmother, Lula Hughes Jordon, also preceded him in death. Survivors include three sisters, Patty Taylor, Wanda Street and Doris Barrett, all of Honaker; three aunts, Velma Street, Beulah Salyers and Virginia Scott; a special uncle, Ernest Wampler; a very special aunt and dear friend, Silva Hughes; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Born Dec. 25, 1934, the daughter of the late James Henry Farmer and Elsie Kiser Farmer, she was the widow of Jessee Robinson. She was a retired cafeteria manager at the Lebanon Middle School. She was a member of the Willis Chapel United Methodist Church and the Senior Circle of the Russell County Medical Center. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Deborah Robinson, Bristol Virginia, and Stephen and Patricia Robinson, Lebanon; three grandchildren, Jessica Robinson, Jennifer Robinson and Dillon Robinson; two brothers, Eugene Robinson, Logan, W.Va., and J.D. Vandyke LENOIR, N.C. -- Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Vandyke, 84, formerly of Richlands, died in Lenoir Tuesday, April 29, 2003. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Donald Wallace Donald Wallace, 82, of Bristol Tennessee passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2003, at the VA Medical Center. He was a native of Crockett County, Tenn., and was the son of the late Walter and Mary Teague Wallace. He was retired from TVA where he was a member of the original development team and was a member of Beulah Land Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II as a chemical weapons specialist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo Harrison Wallace. Survivors include son, Franklin Wallace of Miami; daughter, Vicki Lynn Trahan and spouse Russel of Midwest City, Okla.; grandsons, Nicholas and Aaron Trahan; and nephew and spouse, Walt and Brenda Harrison. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Beulah Land Baptist Church with Pastor Edward Swartz and Pastor David Wilson officiating. Fred A. Woolwine CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Fred Ashley Woolwine, 80, died at his home Thursday, April 24, 2003. He was a native of Abingdon and had lived in Chattanooga for 37 years. Mr. Woolwine was a graduate of Carson-Newman College where he played football and baseball. He was a Marine Corps veteran and served during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of White Oak Baptist Church. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Bettie Manard Woolwine; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Fred Jr. and Sarah Woolwine of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law, Gracie and Earl Stroup, Morristown, Tenn. and Sylvia and Dan Stone, Louisville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dr. Nathan Woolwine, Seth Woolwine, Katie Woolwine Hetrick and husband Brandon, Matthew, Andrew and Phillip Stone. He is also survived by one sister, Sarah (Sally) Stevens, Abingdon; and three brothers, E.A. Woolwine, Williamsburg, Va., retired Lt. Col. David F. Woolwine, Consenant, Fla., and Dr. Samuel E. Woolwine, Richmond. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2003, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. Burial was in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
