Stella Faye Ford MARION -- Stella Faye Ford, 58, loving wife and mother, took her flight to heaven on Friday, May 30, 2003, from the Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Zion Hill United Methodist Church and loved to sing the praises of the Lord. She was faithful to her church community, working on many activities. Mrs. Ford was also active in school affairs during her career as a school teacher. She was preceded in death by her mother, Norma R. Testerman; and her stepfather, John W. Testerman. She was born, Nov. 15, 1933, a daughter of the late Frank Hamm and Pauline Dickerson. She was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area and was the widow of Hubert J. Hess. She was a retired employee of Raytheon and was presently employed at Wal-Mart. She was a charter member of the Norfolk Avenue Baptist Church and was a member and vice-president of the Bristol VA/TN Hat Club. She was awarded the Survivors Relay for Life Medal presented by Dr. Sue Prill. Jackson BRISTOL, Va. -- Mr. William Andrew Jackson, age 61, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mr. Jackson was born on Nov. 5, 1941, in Newport News, Va., to the late James Beecher Jackson and Katherine Combs Jackson. He was an avid bicyclist, motorcyclist and collector and restorer of antique automobiles. At the time of his death he was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation at the Bristol District Office. He was a former member of the East Tennessee Antique Automobile Club and was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by his wife, Sara K. Jackson; a brother, Dwight M. Jackson of Honaker, Va.; and two very special aunts, Kelsie Marie Fletcher of Bristol Virginia, and Jo M. Sword of Knoxville. Interment and committal services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Born Dec. 27, 1905, in High Point, Va., the daughter of William Thomas and Sallie Mumpower Keisling. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Knoxville, the widow of Floyd S. Roberts and a longtime employee of Rohm and Hass. In 1983, Mrs. Roberts donated a "Three Rank Portativ" organ to the church in memory of Mr. Roberts. Scott Roberts Park on Churchwell Avenue was re-named in her honor. Survivors: nephew, Ret. Col. John L. Patrick and wife, Charlene; cousin, Joe Mumpower; and several other family members.
