Friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday. Imogene P. Bonham MARION -- Imogene Powell Bonham, age 87, died Friday, July 04, 2003, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Bonham was born in Smyth County to Nonnie Dean and George Comer Powell. She was a member of Baptist Union Church in Grayson County, but had attended Matson Presbyterian Chapel in recent years. She moved to Marion in the early 1970s after having lived in Grayson County for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clinton "Clint" Bonham; two sisters, Opal Powell Leonard and Murle June Powell; and two brothers, Ernest M. Powell and Carl Edward Powell. She is survived by two sisters, Sadie P. Sturgill and husband C. R. of Marion, and Peggy P. Snapp of Glade Spring; two brothers, Ronald B. Powell and wife Barbara of Marion, and Donald W. Powell and wife Mae of Marion; two sisters-in- law, Alice G. Powell of Marion and Peggy R. Powell of Jacksonville, Fla.; several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Rhonda Pruitt and Opal Powell Cornett, and a special nephew, Ryan Powell; a very special great-niece, Casey Powell; special great-nephews, Jacob Pruitt, Garrett Powell, Kyle Powell and Philip Cornett; and a host of special friends also survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 6, 2003, at 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, with the Rev. William T. Wing III officiating. Bracel Stamper Coe DUBLIN, Va. -- Bracel Stamper Coe, age 81, died Thursday, July 3, 2003, in Pulaski Community Hospital. Born Oct. 10, 1921, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Atha Dolinger Stamper Dalton and Coy Stamper. Mrs. Coe was a member of the White Top Baptist Church in Grayson County, Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie W. Coe; two brothers, Willard and Earl Stamper; and a sister, Erna V. Stamper. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Thomas P. Gannaway of Vinton, Ohio, Marsha and Joseph Haberly of Forest, Va., and Charlene and Gary Doss of Dublin; one brother, Bobby Stamper and his wife Geneva of New Port Richey, Fla.; one sister, Erma Crockett and her husband, Thomas of Draper; one stepbrother, Oscar L. Dalton Jr. and wife Stella of Pulaski; one stepsister, Louise Oltman and husband Steve of Fairfax, Va.; two grandsons, Thomas P. Gannaway II and his wife Andrea of Gallipolis, Ohio, and Capt. James W. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith and, while living in Chesapeake for the last six years, she attended the Jackson Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dexter Cleo Perkins; three sons, Scott Perkins, Kermitt Perkins and James Perkins; two sisters Bertha Cruey and Maude Gilmer; and one brother, Claude Ray McGlothlin. Mrs. Perkins is survived by two sons, Gary Perkins and wife Donna of Carrollton, Va., and Delmer Perkins and wife Cathy of Jewell Ridge, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Nila Myers and husband Melvin of Chesapeake and Mrs. Janice Cassidy and husband Kennith of Franklin, Va.; one brother, Ulys McGlothlin and wife Willow of Chesapeake; one sister, Dorothy Joyce of Raven, Va.; 21 grandchildren; and 32 great- grandchildren also survive. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He served eight years in the military.
