Bowling SURGOINSVILLE, Tenn. -- Hazel Rouse Bowling, 79, passed away peacefully July 30, 2003, at Piedmont Healthcare System in Rock Hill, S.C. She was born on May 31, 1924, to the late Rev. Herbert and Celia Rouse of Bristol Tennessee. In 1945, she married her loving husband of 57 years, Carl Dean Bowling. Through his employment with TVA, they resided in Rogersville, Tenn; Florence, Ala., and Surgoinsville. Ms. Bowling was a member of First Baptist Church of Surgoinsville. One of her favorite times was spent listening to the inspirational music played by Chuck and Stewart on the local television show, Gospel Gold. She also looked forward each spring to planting flowers and watching the birds as they flew through the air, often resting on her dogwood tree. Ms. Bowling brought joy to all who came her way. She was a devoted and loving wife to Carl Dean Bowling of the home; mother to Lois Nell Bowling Presley of Concord, N.C., and Larry Dean Bowling of Rock Hill, S.C.; grandmother to Morris Edward Presley II of Concord; sister to Warren Rouse of Bristol Tennessee, and mother-in-law to Pat Bowling of Rock Hill. Born November 30, 1914, in Washington County, Va., a daughter of the late Robert Edward Miller and Martha Francis Gobble Miller, she was the wife of the late Richard Franklin Clark. A former resident of Lebanon, she had lived in Hildebran the past 16 years. She was a retired employee of Lebanon Apparel Co. in Lebanon. She attended New Vision Ministry Baptist Church in Sawmills, N.C. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel Clark; two sons, Silas Clark and Robert (Bobby) Clark; two sisters, Elizabeth Fields and Helen Helton. Dorothy Cook Lowry BLOUNTVILLE -- Dorothy Cook Lowry, age 73, was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 31, 2003. She was an angel here on earth and was loved by anyone who knew her. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She had a deep care and concern for anyone she knew. God has used her life as a testimony to those around. Even while battling a long tough fight with cancer, she always showed faith, courage and still continued to give praise. She will be dearly missed wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and loving friend. She enjoyed making sunshine baskets for the sick at her church. At Buffalo Christian Church, she was in the Ladies Circle, a dedicated nursery worker and VBS volunteer for many years. Navy, serving in three wars, World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam War.
