Clyde Burgess MARION -- Clyde "Stan" Burgess age 65 died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilmore and Lula Doane Burgess, one sister, Freda Burgess, and one son, James Stanley Burgess. He served as a grocery store manager for Giant Food Stores for 11 years in the Maryland and D.C. area. He was also a supervisor at Moldings, Inc. and the manager at Whitehall Apartments in Chilhowie for 20 years. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking. He was especially proud of his granddaughter and grandson, Brandi and Jason, his great-granddaughters, Zoey and Jocelyn, and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ashleigh , Lindsay and Cody McMahan. Jacky Lynn Greer Sr. BRISTOL, Va. -- Mr. Jacky Lynn Greer Sr., age 45, died Thursday, August 14, 2003, as a result of massive heart failure. He was born on May 21, 1958, in Washington County, Va. Jacky was preceded in death by his father, Howard Haynes Greer, and a brother, Howard Haynes Greer Jr. He was a U. S. Army veteran. He was born on March 7, 1939, in Cleveland, Va., to the late Walt Hammer and Marie Ross Hammer. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ross Henry Hammer and Walt Israel Hammer, and two sisters, Mary Matthews and Josephine Mitchell. Reuben was a member of the Valley Street Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
