Vinson, 83, Marion -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reecie Tipton Arrowood JOHNSON CITY -- Mrs. Reecie Tipton Arrowood, age 91, Asbury Place, formerly 153 Lamont St., died Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, in the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a lengthy illness. A native of Unicoi, Mrs. Arrowood was a daughter of the late Charlie and Vista West Tipton. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Arrowood was a member of the Salvation Army Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore R. Arrowood, in 1994; five sisters, Ethel Sparks, Mae Hughes, Pansy Jenkins, Irene Feathers and Ella Sifford; two brothers, Tom Tipton and Lloyd Tipton; one son, Levi David Arrowood. Survivors include four daughters, Magdalene Waters, Blowing Rock, N.C., Betty Reed and Nancy Letterman, both of Johnson City, and Brenda Franklin, Limestone; three sons, Ted Arrowood, Atlanta, Henry Arrowood, Tampa, Fla., and Joe Arrowood, Noblesville, Ind.; fourteen grandchildren; numerous great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Arrowood will be conducted Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at 2:30 p.m. in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Lt. Col. Jack T. Waters, Major Don Vick and Brigadier Luther Smith. Interment will follow in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Jonesborough. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Chabot SHADY VALLEY, Tenn. -- Michael Chris Chabot, age 46, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at his residence. He was a native of Mountain City, Tenn., and had lived in Shady Valley since 1984. He was preceded in death by his father, George Adlard Chabot; a sister, Cathy Jean Chabot; his grandparents, Ennis and John Parker; an aunt, Lillian Blevins, and two uncles, Charles Parker and John Howard Parker. He is survived by his mother, Mary June Chabot of Shady Valley; a sister, Rita Wall of Shady Valley; three brothers, John Daniel Chabot and Barry Wayne Chabot, both of Minnesota, and George Chabot Jr. of Washington D.C.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and two great-nephews. Louella Colley MANASSAS, Va. -- Louella Alice (Barton) Colley, age 58, died on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, after a long illness with cancer. Louella was born and raised in southwestern Virginia (Buchanan County). She worked for the Fairfax County Schools, then for Colley Plumbing. Her life was God and her family. God's assignment for her was to raise her three boys and God is now saying to her: "Well done thou good and faithful servant." The family would like to thank Patricia, Sherry, Tammy and Brenda Kay for all of their help and would especially like to thank Sissy-Minnie. Sarah Lee Early BRISTOL, Va. -- Sarah Lee Early, 73, of 1 Liberty Place, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at her home. She was a native of Conyers, Ga., and had made her home in Bristol for the past 20 years. Mrs. Early retired as the association executive for the Bristol TN-VA Association of Realtors after 16 years of service and attended the Community Church at Bristol. McFarlane of Roanoke; one brother, Gene McFarlane, Ph.D., of Kingsport; a special sister-in-law, "Granny" Virginia McFarlane of Marion; two grandchildren, Madison and Hunter McFarlane, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Donnie Lee Tompkins POUND, Va. -- Donnie Lee Tompkins, 72, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 3, 1931, to the late Frank and Nora Tompkins, and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Cephas Tompkins and Jerald Buford Tompkins Sr. He was a member of Pyles Memorial Church, a veteran of the Korean conflict, served in the U.S. Army, a member of the VFW Post 9600 of Pound and was a retired coal miner from Double M. Coal Co. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rosalie Tompkins; three sons, Vernon Tompkins, Christopher Tompkins and Donnie Ray Mullins, all of Pound; four daughters, Cheryl Tompkins, Lisa Akers and Colleen Dutton, all of Pound, and Tammy Stallard of Big Stone Gap; two brothers, Clifford Tompkins of Elizabethton and Danny Tompkins of Wise; three sisters, Norma Tardiff of Rogers, Ark., Clayetta Mullins of Clintwood and Arbutus Vanover of Rhoadesville, Va.; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Trierweiler COEBURN -- Edwin Arnold Trierweiler, age 85, of Route 2, passed away Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, at Heritage Hall Health Care in Clintwood, Va. Born in Michigan, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia Trierweiler. He was a heavy equipment operator and a Jehovah's Witness. Survivors include three sons, Mark and wife Doris Trierweiler of Coeburn, Curt Trierweiler of Saskatchewan, Canada, and Grant and wife Lisa Trierweiler of Lincoln, Neb.; six grandchildren, Barak, Travis, Wade, Erin, Beth and Caleb, and two brothers, Fred Trierweiler and Jerry Trierweiler, both of Lansing, Mich. There will be no funeral services. Haysi Funeral Home is in charge. Milton T. Vinson MARION -- Milton T. Vinson, age 83, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon. Wygal Sr. MARION -- William Jennings Wygal Sr., age 85, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, in Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion. He was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, Marion, and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the Brunswick Corporation after 27 years of service. He worked part-time at Piggly-Wiggly and Food City and farmed all of his life. Mr. Wygal was preceded in death by his parents, William G. and Sally S. Wygal, two brothers, Jackson E. Wygal and Garland G. Wygal, and one sister, Thelma W. Eller. He is survived by his wife, Ella Virginia Mason Wygal of Marion; one son and daughter-in-law, William Jennings Jr. and Martha Susan Wygal of Wytheville, Va.; one daughter and very special friend, Mary Susan Wygal and Linda C. Gross, both of Marion; one sister, Eleanor W. McDonald; five grandchildren, Charles Garrett Wygal, Cassandra Joyce Wygal, Susan Ashton Wygal, Sarah Elizabeth Wygal and Julia Isabella Wygal, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
