Bessie Blevins TAZEWELL, Va. -- Bessie Pearl Osborne Blevins, age 86, of the Dry Fork area, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, from Tazewell Community Hospital. Born April 15, 1917, in Washington County, Va., she was a daughter of the late Grover B. and Lura Little Osborne. She was a lifelong member and former church secretary of Linkous Chapel Freewill Baptist Church at Dry Fork. Mrs. Blevins taught in the Tazewell County School System for 46 years. She was a member of the T.E.A. and a life member of the P.T.A. She was an avid quilter and cook and enjoyed passing her works onto family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Ward Blevins, one brother, Elmer Osborne, one sister, Blanche Blevins, and son-in- law, John Stevenson. Denton Mrs. Margaret Rachel Denton, age 81, went to Heaven in angels arms after a courageous battle with cancer Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at her residence. She was born on May 3, 1922, in Washington County, Va., to the late Dewey Foran and Daisy Gobble Foran. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl W. Denton and Raymond Worley, and a sister, Elizabeth Huff. Mrs. Denton was a member of the Greendale Chapel Church. Born July 24, 1945, in Welch, W.Va., a son of the late Harold Dane Owen and Virginia Ruth Ashbrook Owen, he moved to Cleveland, Va., as an infant. A retired medical equipment salesman for General Electric, he moved from Atlanta to South Holston Lake five years ago. He was a graduate of Cleveland High School and East Tennessee State University and was a member of the Cleveland Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jennifer Owen Brooks.
