Born April 2, 1944, in Lebanon, a daughter of the late Woodrow Wolfe and Fannie Kate Richardson Wolfe, she was the wife of the late Arthur Clark. She was a member of the Hillcreek Pentecostal Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Carol Wolfe and Carlos Wolfe. Survivors include her companion, Franklin D. Jackson, Richlands; three sisters, Letty Jean Groce and husband Benny Groce and Linda Kay Wolfe, all of Lebanon, and Sharon Sue Tiller and husband Hershall Tiller, Council, Va.; three brothers, Giles Henry Wolfe and wife Wanda Wolfe and Michael Lynn Wolfe, all of Lebanon, and Danny Lee Wolfe and wife Naydean Wolfe, St. Paul; also four nephews; four nieces and three great-nephews. A native of Kentucky, born Feb. 7, 1926, he was the son of the late Paul Raymond Driscoll and Laura Benfield Driscoll Graham. On June 23, 1951, he married Anna Lee Trivette in Johnson City. Joseph SALEM, Ohio -- Janice "Jan" W. Joseph, of 910 Somerset Drive, and the widow of Ford Joseph Jr., passed away at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at the Essex Nursing Center in Salem. Born in McClure (Dickenson County), Va., she was the daughter of the late Garland E. and Inez (Dyer) White. She was also the great-great-granddaughter of Civil War veteran, Joseph Kelly, who served in the Virginia House of Delegates in 1855-1856, where he assisted in setting the boundaries for Dickenson County. She was also the great-great-granddaughter of Simpson Dyer, who donated the land and helped build the first free school in Dickenson County. Her grandfather, Simpson L. Dyer, and other great-uncles and great-aunts taught in the early school system. Most were one-room schools. She was a member of the Canfield Christian Church and served there as deaconess and occasional lay minister and was a volunteer for Operation Blessing. She was educated in Kentucky and Virginia and was the first female student to take mechanical drafting in high school and worked for many years as a draftsperson. She also took adult education classes at Kent State. She retired after 22 years in sales and sales management for the State of Ohio. She also traveled in her district to teach classes on sexual harassment and received three awards from the state. Mrs. Joseph, an avid reader, pursued many interests, including music, antiques, politics, history, genealogy, religion, travel and art needle work. She was a charter member and held offices in the Jaycettes (Jaycees), and co-chaired the first campaign for funds to establish a mental health center in Columbiana County and also served on the board for some years. She was past president of the Women's Democratic Club and member of the Salem Federation of Women's Club. Mrs. Joseph also worked for the March of Dimes and Heart and Cancer Foundations. She attended school and taught in the Adult Literacy Program in Salem. She also assisted her late husband, who was a lifetime community activist and leader, in many of his activities over the years. Survivors include her brother, Garland E. White Jr. of Clintwood, Va.; two nieces, Mrs. Robert ("Amy" Hobbs) Cribbs of Hagerstown, Md., who at one time made her home with the Josephs, and Mrs. Tom (Anne North) Jones of Louisville, Colo.; lifelong friend, Frances Atkinson of Mountain City, Tenn., and several other nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Ford Joseph, who preceded her on Aug. 29, 1999, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty W. Hobbs North, on Aug. 9, 2000. Joreen M. Whitaker BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Joreen Morton Whitaker, age 69, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 8, 2003. She was a member of Central Holston Christian Church, a loving wife, mother and sister. She retired in 1973 from Bristol Memorial Hospital after serving 20 years as an R.N. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Zelma Morton, a brother, Jerry Morton, and an infant daughter, Lisa Colette Whitaker. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Charles L. "Scritch" Whitaker; two sons, Greg Whitaker of the home and Gary Whitaker and his fiance, Rene Scheler, of Roseburg, Ore.; brother, Darryl Morton and his wife Grace, and sister, Rosemary Booher and her husband Tom. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Wednesday in Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Wayne Emery and Minister Ken Kehrer officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday in Shipley Cemetery.
