She was a life-long resident of Washington County, Va. She was the widow of Robert Lee Alexander and was also preceded in death by her grandson, Kenneth "Tigger" Whitehead. Survivors include six sons, William "Hank" Alexander, Dale Alexander, Earl Alexander, David Alexander and Michael Alexander, all of Abingdon, and Jimmy Alexander of Meadowview; six daughters, Helen Street of Bakersville, N.C., Clara White of Lebanon, Josie Mitchell, Kathryn Whitehead, Lorene Mitchell and Miss Linda Alexander, all of Abingdon; one stepdaughter, Christine White of Abingdon; one sister, Beulah Triplett of Lenoir, N.C.; 21 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Dickenson BRISTOL, Va. -- Pearl H. Dickenson, 89, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, in Greystone Health Care Center. She was a native of Wise County, Va., and had made her home in Bristol for many years. She was a daughter of the late William and Laura Wells Dickenson and was also preceded in death by a sister, Margie Barker. Miss Dickenson was a retired employee of United Inter-Mountain Telephone Company and was of the Presbyterian faith. Survivors include two sisters, Cora Tate of Bristol Tennessee and Mary Stidham of Big Stone Gap; one brother, Henry Dickenson of Big Stone Gap, and several nieces and nephews. George BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Genevieve Roberts George, age 85, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at NHC Healthcare of Bristol in Bristol, Virginia. She was born in Vincennes, Ind., a daughter of the late Solomon and Ethyl Pace Roberts, retired to Florida in 1975, and moved to Bristol in Jan., 2003. After many years as a department manager in a major retail department store, she spent the 15 years prior to her retirement as the office manager of George Equipment Company, a farm implement business which she owned jointly with her husband in Princeton, Ind. She was a life-time member of the United Methodist church and recently received her 50-year pin as a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Erven George; a son, Eddie A. George and his wife Rita of Bristol Tennessee; a granddaughter, Michele George of Atlanta; a grandson, Alan George and his wife Kelly of Monroe, Ga., and three great-grandchildren, Aaron George, Brandan George and GraceAn George.
