She was born in Bristol Tennessee and lived all of her life in the Bristol- Blountville area. She is the daughter of the late David and Mittie Ellen Mills Seymore and a member of the Belle Meadows Baptist Church. She was a former employee of the housekeeping department at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Cordle CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Mr. Eugene Franklin “Boots” Cordle, age 76, formerly of the Raven area, passed away at a Charleston West Virginia Hospital, Oct. 8, 2003. He was born in Richlands and was the son of the late Dave and Myrtle Cordle, both of the Raven area. He had made his home in Crosslanes, W.Va., for the past 12 years. He was a U.S. Army and Korean War veteran and a disabled coal miner. Mr. Cordle was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three grandchildren; one stepson; one sister; and one half-brother. Survivors are: his wife, Barbara Cordle of Crosslanes, W.Va.; five daughters: Rose Smith of Menominee, Mich.; Lillie Meadows of Sugar Grove, Va.; Sharon Blanton of Tailors, S.C.; Mary Lawson of Abingdon; and April Lane of Greer, S.C.; two sons, Thomas Cordle of Greer and Donald Cordle of Greer; three stepsons: Donald Allen Stephens of Cleveland, Ohio; John Stephens of Charleston, W.Va.; and Adam Stephens of Charleston; one stepdaughter, Brenda Kessinger of Charleston; 14 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one half sister; and one half brother also survive. She was a member of the Grundy Baptist Church for 57 years and was also a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, I.M. Lambert; one grandson, Richard Kent Matoon Allara; five sisters, Linnie and Sarah Kennedy, Lora Etta Horn, Ella Davis and Ida Joyce; and three brothers, Alva, Ballard and Miles Horn.
