Basil Winton Allison, 88, Muddy Creek Road, went to be with the Lord at 5:50 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born and raised in Ordway, Colo., later residing in Atlanta and Florida before returning to the Kingsport area in the 1980s. Mr. Allison was self-employed in insurance sales and had also served as pastor of several local churches. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. His parents, Henry D. Allison and Anne Barker Allison Powers, stepfather, Jake Powers, son, David Allison, and two sisters preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Virginia McVey Allison of the home; one daughter, Anne Alvis, Piney Flats; two sons, Billy R. Allison and wife Connie, Elizabethton, and Gene R. Allison, Piney Flats; five grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; one stepbrother, Wayne Powers, Abingdon, and a half brother, Leo Powers, Glade Spring. Beidleman Sr., 74, died Friday at Medina General Hospital, Medina, Ohio, after a long illness. Born in Bristol Tennessee, he had lived in Elyria for 55 years. He worked for General Motors, Elyria, for 25 years, retiring as a foreman. He was a member of Jones Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he sang in the male chorus. He also belonged to the Lorain County Male Chorus. Mr. Beidleman was a league bowler. Survivors include sons, Jack Beidleman Jr. of Cleveland and Gary Beidleman and Carey Roddy, both of Elyria; daughters, Victoria Cash and Candace Beidleman, both of Cleveland, Ginger Williams of Chicago, Regina Beidleman of Kansas City, Mo., Penelope Beidleman of Dallas, Judith Beidleman of Sharon, Pa., and Karen Nevel of Avon Lake; sisters, Lorean Henderson of Bristol Tennessee, Nina Medley of Roanoke and Betty Rush of Fuquay Varina, N.C.; brother, the Rev. Born in Rowe, Va., she was the daughter of the late General Grant and Mary Jane Gilbert Coxton. She was the mother of two churches, Uplift & Praise Worship Center in Richlands and Gospel Center Time Ministries at Belfast, Va. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Richard Keen, one daughter, Ollie Mae Brown, one son, Dennis Edward Keen, three sisters, one brother, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family in her generation. Owens HIGH POINT, N.C. – Mr. Junior Franklin Owens, 58, a resident of Homewood Ave., went to be with the Lord Nov. 23, 2003, at the High Point Regional Hospital Cancer Center following a year of declining health. Junior was born in Washington County, Va., July 6, 1945, a son of Hugh and Bessie Thomas Owens. He was employed as a master carpenter with Burton Builders since 1969, where he was a very loyal and irreplaceable employee. He attended Full Gospel Miracle Ministries and he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Carl Owens, and a sister, Ruth Thomas. Rasnake LEBANON – Granville L. Rasnake, 89, passed away on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003. A life-long resident of Russell County, Va., Granville was born on June 18, 1914, the son of the late James and Alta Rasnake. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Warner, 71, of the Spring City community, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, in the Mountain View Retirement Home. Combs Funeral Service in Lebanon is serving the family of Mr. Warner.
