Brinegar MARION - Mildred Ruth Carney Brinegar, age 85, widow of Thomas Milton Brinegar, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Asbury Place, Wytheville, Va. Born on Nov. 13, 1918, in Roscoe, Pa., she attended Concord College and had been an ordained minister in the Nazarene Church since 1946. She was a dorm mother at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, where she was known as "Mom B," was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Nashville and the Trevecca Community Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are her son, Paul David Brinegar of Marion; three grandchildren, David Eric Brinegar of Nashville and Chadwick Kyle Brinegar and Keira Lynn Brinegar, both of Marion, and her former daughter-in-law, Gail Greear of Sugar Grove, Va. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Trout officiating. Interment will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Sugar Grove. Mrs. Burbank was born Sept. 15, 1934, in Bristol Virginia, to the late Cecil Willard Heath and Ruby Ellis Heath. She was a life-long resident of Bristol, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Burns, age 77, died on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Maple Grove Health Care Center in Lebanon from an extended illness. He was born in Linden, Va., and lived in Pennington Gap. In 1957, he moved to Lebanon, where he worked for Clinchfield Coal Company for many years and then worked as a federal mine inspector for 21 years. Mr. Burns also served in the military during World War II. He was a member of Spring City Baptist Church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cynthia Burns, a brother, Earl Burns, and a sister, Lorene Banks. He is survived by his wife, Grace L. Burns; four sons, Gary A. Burns, Gregory M. Mrs. Hogg was born on April 18, 1918, in Acme, W.Va., to the late Marshall Gray and Mollie Harlow Gray. She was reared in Summersville, W.Va., and married Hiram Hogg, who was a native of Roxanna, Ky. Mary Corell Neal TANNERSVILLE, Va. - Mrs. Mary Corell Neal, 94, of the Asberrys community of Freestone Valley, died on Dec. 24, 2003, following an extended illness. Born on Dec. 22, 1909, in Thompson Valley in Tazewell County, she was the daughter of the late William Thompson Corell I and Margaret Crockett Corell. Mrs. Neal lived most of her life at Asberrys in Freestone Valley. She was a graduate of Tazewell High School and received her teaching certificate from Radford College. She taught in the Tazewell County School System for many years, starting at the Mitchell School and retiring after teaching at the Tannersville Elementary School. When her health allowed, Mrs. Neal was an active member of the RSVP and participated in many of their charitable works. She was a member of the Thompson Valley Presbyterian Church, but for many years regularly attended the Wesley Chapel Methodist Church, which stood near her home. She was a member of the United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Andes Neal Sr., and brother, Bill Corell. She was survived by her three sons, Stuart Neal Jr. and William Neal of the home and Thompson "Tom" Neal and wife Carolyn Holbrook Neal of Tannersville, and beloved granddaughter, Mary Elliott Neal, a student at the University of Virginia. Anna Lee Warren GATE CITY - Anna Lee Warren, 53, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at her residence after an illness. Born in Scott County, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Nellie Barlette Rhoton and was of the Christian faith. Surviving are her husband, Frederick Warren of Gate City; daughters, Rebecca and husband Reggie Lane of Gate City, Nicole and husband Michael Wolfe, Kingsport, and Penny Warren of Gate City; brothers, Raymond Rhoton of Kingsport, Danny Rhoton of White Pine, Tenn., Charles Rhoton of Dandridge, Tenn., Jackie Rhoton of Clinchport, James Rhoton of Hickory, N.C., and Billy Rhoton of Kingsport; sisters, Polly Harrell of Madisonville, Tenn., Georgia Cooper of Madisonville, Bernice Calton of Gate City, Janet Hilton of Clinchport and Judy Howington of Gate City; a granddaughter, Isabella "Belle" Wolfe; several nieces and nephews and many friends. Edgar Sisk Wilson RAVEN, Va. - Mrs. Edgar Sisk Wilson, age 82, of the Mill Creek section, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, in a Richlands hospital following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, Va., she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Horton Sisk. She was a member of the Pisgah Holiness Church. She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Winfred M. Wilson, one daughter, Shirley Ann Wilson, and four sisters, Winnie Sisk, Nell Horn, Jenny Sparks and Helen McNulty.
