Booth ROSEDALE – The funeral service for Lucille L. Booth will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, in the Memorial Chapel Mausoleum in Ketron Memorial Gardens, with the Evangelist Dennis Wimmer officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 10-10:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at the funeral home. Those attending should meet at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery. Miss Booth, 93, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, in the Russell County Medical Center. Blanche Campbell LEBANON – Miss Blanche Campbell, 94, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at her home. Born June 17, 1909, in Russell County, a daughter of the late Ira Edward Campbell and Nannie Gibson Campbell. She was a retired teacher with 43 years of service, having taught at Castlewood, Honaker, Richlands and Lebanon High Schools, retiring in 1974. A 1927 graduate of Lebanon State School and a 1931 graduate of Emory & Henry College, she did her graduate work at Radford College. She was a 40-year member of Delta Kappa Gamma and was a lifelong member of the Lebanon Memorial United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Evangeline Garrett Gray and Dorothy Campbell Gillenwater. Survivors include a brother, Russell Garrett, Bluefield, Va.; a niece, Charlynne Koback, Bluefield, Va., and three nephews, David Gillenwater, Burke, Va., Robert Gillenwater, Bristow, Va., and James A. Gray Jr., Mechanicsville, Va. The family thanks her caregivers, Joyce Miller, Kim Miller, Missy Honaker and Lisa Harris. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery. Lula McCall RICHLANDS – Mrs. Lula Kathrine Cunningham McCall, age 96, passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at her home. She was born on Oct. 24, 1907, in Washington County, Va., to the late George W. and Lillian Preston Johnson Cunningham. She lived most of her life in Richlands and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richlands. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. (Bill) McCall Sr., four brothers, Carl J. Cunningham, George E. Cunningham, John F. Cunningham and Jacob P. Cunningham, two sisters, Mary C. Adams Genovley and Virginia C. Goodlett, and a daughter-in-law, Vivian Sewell McCall. Mrs. McCall is survived by one son, George W. (Bill) McCall Jr. of Richlands; one sister, Margaret C. (Peg) Cole of Abingdon; one granddaughter, Kathryn M. Culpepper of Richmond; four grandsons, George W. McCall III of Richlands, Marcus S. McCall of Greenville, S.C.; John M. McCall II of Richlands and Joseph W. McCall of Richlands; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Margaret Smith CLAYPOOL HILL, Va. – Mrs. Margaret Evelyn Shreve Smith, age 92, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2004, at her home following a long illness. Born Sept. 23, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ellen Shreves. She was a homemaker and a loving mother. She was a member of the Methodist church in her youth and later was of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bascom Smith, one son, Harold Bascom Smith, eight brothers, Pearl, Jay, Sid, Walter, Robert, Reece, John and Aut Shreve, and two sisters, Mae Pack and Mrs. Ermel (Lilia) Couch. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Betty Whitt and husband Robert of Rosedale, Va., Mrs. Ginger Dale and husband Philip of Pounding Mill, Va., and Mrs. Shirley Lester and husband Bob of Pounding Mill; one sister, Mrs. Clayton (Herma) Brown of Grundy; three grandchildren, Ricky Bishop of Atlanta, Todd Dale and wife Valerie of Eagleville, Pa., and Jessica Lester of Pounding Mill; three great-grandchildren, Maggie Dale, Lauren Dale and Ashleigh Bishop; two step- grandchildren, Kathy Moore and Joe Whitt; six step-great-grandchildren, Alexandria Pirello, Kayla Biggs, Joshua Moore, Joseph Whitt, Brandon Whitt and Camron Whitt; several nieces and nephews; special care nurse, Paula Slate; aide, Emil Rice, and three special helpers, Robert Whitt, Philip Dale and Bob Lester. Mrs. White was a longtime resident of Bristol Tennessee and was of the Southern Baptist faith. She had a special nephew, who kept her faith ongoing, Paul (Tim) Tester. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Otey, and an infant daughter. Survivors include her loving husband, Thomas J. White; a loving mother to Robert Webb, Jody Webb and companion Rhonda, Rosanne Webb and husband Charles Brown, Frank Webb, John Webb, Delphia Eldridge and husband Billy, Blanche Doss, Charles Webb, Wendy Hankins and husband Gene, Bradley Keeling and wife Diane and Lee Keeling and wife Dori; two sisters, Della Mae Tester and Mary Otey; three brothers, Howard Otey, Willis Otey and Joe Otey, also surviving are 28 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Jeffrey was born on Jan. 13, 1978, in Prince William County, Va., and had lived most of his life in Bristol and Washington County. He was employed by U.S. Solutions Group as an employee trainer. He is survived by his wife, Amanda Odum Wilson; his mother and father, Paul and Deborah Wilson of Bristol Virginia; his birth father, Fred Wilson and fiancιe Chris Dodson of Culpeper, Va.; his birth mother, Teresa Eastridge of Colonial Beach, Va.; three sisters, Jeanna Wilson, Renee Brewster and Lori Beth Wilson, all of Colonial Beach; grandparents, Roy and Genell Hess of Davenport, Va., and Ron and Una Smith of Northern Virginia; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bobby Odum and Peggy Mitchell, both of Abingdon; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tabitha and James White of Richmond; his wife’s grandmother, Elizabeth Mitchell of Abingdon; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many special friends.
