Stan Anderson and Rev. Dewey Williams will officiate. Anna Kate Breeding Earl B. Breeding CLEVELAND, Va. – Anna Kate Breeding, 74, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, and her husband, Earl B. Breeding, 74, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, from injuries received in an automobile accident on Route 19 in Hansonville. Anna was born Dec. 29, 1929, in Russell County, the daughter of the late Lawrence Williams and Lillie Artrip Williams. Earl was born in Russell County, the son of Earl Breeding and Mattie Robinson Breeding. Anna and Earl had lived in Chicago for 50 years, retiring and returning to Russell County six years ago. Anna was a member of the Clinchfield Baptist Church and Earl was a member of the Markham Baptist Church in Markham, Ill. They are survived by four daughters, Sheila Erley, New Lenox, Ill., Sandra Anderson and her husband Larry Anderson, and Catherine Schank, all of Markham, and Sharon Thomas and her husband Jack Thomas, Tinley Park, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Larry Anderson, Mark Anderson, Jason Thomas, Jennifer Harder, Joshua Erley, Lisa Graves, Laura Saint and Michael Saint, and 11 great- grandchildren, Jacob Anderson, Kyle Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Katelyn Harder, Katie Graves, Korey Graves, Kaige Graves, Drake Dinsmore, Damon Dinsmore, Taylor Dinsmore and Tatreic Dinsmore. Anna is also survived by two sisters, Mary Trig Smyth, Johnson City, and Nell Ellen Cooper and her husband Tommy Cooper, Duluth, Ga., and special sister-in-law, Mildred Rhea, Cleveland. Earl is also survived by his twin sister, Mildred Rhea and her husband John Rhea, Cleveland, Va.. Trula Ann Dearry NORTON – Trula Ann Dearry, 53, born Jan. 23, 1951, departed this life Jan. 27, 2004, at Wellmont Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap. She and her husband evangelized together in celebration of their love for the Lord for over 33 years. Her singing ministry touched the lives of many with a great testimony. As an elder of the singing ministry, she taught many about love of the Lord through her smile, song and unending delight in the Lord. On Jan. 27, 2004, she had a testimony, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day." 2 Timothy 4:7. Preceded in death by Corbett and Arlie Moore, paternal grandparents, Florence and Albert Sexton, maternal grandparents, father-in-law, James W. Dearry, and a brother-in-law, Mark Mefford. A memorial service commemorating his life will be held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell, Va. A reception will be held following the service. Bernus Gibson Jr. COEBURN – Bernus Gibson Jr., 56, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at the Bristol Hospice House after a battle with cancer. A lifelong resident of the Stone Mountain Community, he was a member of the Full Gospel Power House and a part time employee of Freedom Ford of Wise and Morgan McClure. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Druecilla Sexton Gibson of the Stone Mountain community. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Arkie Bell Craiger Gibson of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Tony Vernon and Tiffany Gibson of Coeburn; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy Michelle and Jamie Ritchie of Coeburn and Crystal Gail and David Coleman of Wise; five special grandchildren, Jamie and Shyanne Ritchie, Brianna and Seth Coleman and Kiarra Gibson; a brother, Ellis Gibson of Leonard Town, Md.; two sisters, Peggy Ann Gibson of Lexington Park, Md., and Betty Gibson Brooks of Norton; several nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends, Tom and Frances of Coeburn. Bernus was a special person and was considered a wonderful father and grandfather by many people close to the family. He was an avid sports fan and supporter of the Coeburn Blue Knights football team and a member of the "chaingang" for the Coeburn football team. He enjoyed Little League sports, where he coached for many years. He also enjoyed softball, where he played and coached. Bernus never met a stranger and lived his life for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed. Madeline Helmandollar BRISTOL, Tenn. – Madeline Evelyn Reedy Helmandollar, age 79, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, in the Appalachian Christian Village, Johnson City. Mrs. Helmandollar was born on March 13, 1924, in Princeton, W.Va., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert and Bessie Reedy. She was a member of the Church of God and ministered to during her sickness by Christian Fellowship Church. Mrs. Helmandollar was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Helmandollar, two infant daughters, one sister and one brother. She was a resident of Tazewell and Marion before moving to Bristol in 1965. Mrs. Helmandollar is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Larry Feathers; one son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Lois Helmandollar; one granddaughter, Tonya Story; one grandson, Brian Heffinger; four nephews and one niece. Funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at 8 p.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Elmer Lester and Dr. Bruce Montgomery officiating. Graveside service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell. Lois Henderson CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mrs. Lois Hillman Henderson, age 83, formerly of Richlands, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at the Laurels at Highland Creek in Charlotte. She was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Elsie T. Owens Hillman of Finney and later Honaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Walter Tillou Henderson, and two brothers, Miles and Bud Hillman. Lois was a 1936 graduate of Honaker High School, attended Emory & Henry from 1936 to 1938 and graduated cum laude from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Bluefield, W.Va., on Oct. 28, 1941. She attended the University of Virginia for a brief internship in teaching methods and became director of nursing at St. Luke’s. Lois joined the U.S. Army in April of 1943, and was commissioned as a lieutenant and served as a nurse in Ora Bay, New Guinea, and later in Manila in the Philippines, where she remained until the end of the war. She was also a member of the Richlands Presbyterian Church. She was the loving mother of seven children, who loved her dearly and will cherish her memory: three sons, Mr. Steve Henderson of Columbia, S.C., Mr. Dean Henderson of Richlands and Mr. Dow Henderson of Tazewell; four daughters, Mrs. Merry Tillou Thompson of Lexington Park, Md., Mrs. Kathy Adams of Davidson, N.C., Mrs. Jane Hasko of Bluff City and Ms. Holly Henderson of Charlotte; one sister, Patsy Junker of Nashville; one brother, Bob Hillman, Lebanon; nine grandchildren, Jessica Stone, Ashley and Morgan Weatherly, Emily and Erin Redden, Trevor, Sydney and Kristen Henderson and Nick Kilgore, and one great- great-grandchild, Kyle Joseph Stone. Family will receive friends at noon on Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at the Emory United Methodist Church, on the campus of Emory & Henry College at Emory, Va., and the funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., with Rev. She was a loving wife, mother and sister, a real family person and a true Christian. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Germercial Stovall of Marion; two sons, Germercial Stovall Jr. of Winchester, Tenn., and Joseph Stovall of Abingdon; six sisters, Mary Dixon of Bristol Virginia, Evangline Cox of Troutdale, Va., Donna Anderson of Marion, Deborah Calloway of Moneta, Va., Regina Roberts of Marion and Karen Slack of Marion; one brother, Todd Anderson of Marion; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was born Sept. 25, 1958, in Buckhannon, W.Va., the son of Clayton Tenney and Janice Gooden Tenney of Abingdon. He was united in marriage June 2, 1997, to Debbie Phillips Tenney, who survives. In addition to his parents and wife, he is also survived by one daughter, Stormi Renee Tenney of Knoxville; one son, Steven Tenney of West Jefferson, N.C.; one stepdaughter, Molly White of Elkins, and two stepsons, Daniel White of Elkins and Damien White/Mitchell of Washington, D.C. Also surviving are four brothers, Basil Tenney of Meadowview, Ivan Tenney of Buckhannon, Leonard Tenney of Abingdon and Dexter Tenney of Asheville, N.C.; two sisters, Sandra Thayer of Abingdon and Sherry Parks of Blountville; three step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Murl and Lydia Tenney, and his maternal grandparents, George and Ocie Gooden.
