Musick, Bristol Virginia Parker Young, 90, Coeburn John King Buchanan BRISTOL, Va. – John King Buchanan, age 58, of 502 Lynnwood Drive, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at his home. He was born Jan. 6, 1946, in Clintwood, to the late Fitzhugh L. and Stella Buchanan, and he had lived in Bristol since 1968. He was a salesman with Bristol Flooring, a realtor with Prestige Realty and he attended the First Freewill Baptist Church of Bristol Virginia. He was preceded in death by a son, Chadwick Brian Buchanan, two brothers, Fitzhugh Leonard Jr. and Louis, and a sister, Joella Buchanan. Survivors include wife, Bonny Colley Buchanan, Bristol Virginia; daughter, Holly Lewellyn and husband, Mack, Bluff City; three brothers, Billy Lee Buchanan, Clintwood, Marshall Thomas Buchanan, Bristol Virginia, and Paul D. Buchanan, Clintwood; sister, Dolores Buchanan Smith, Clintwood; several nieces and nephews and two aunts. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Darrell Pickle and Rev. Scott Price officiating, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday before the funeral service. Funeral services will also be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Clintwood Primitive Baptist Church in Clintwood, with a visitation from 1 p.m. Friday until time of service at the church. Burial will follow in the Buchanan Cemetery on George’s Fork. Pallbearers will be nephews, also Gary Sweeny and Bryan Ellis. Honorary pallbearer will be William Perry. Earl Lee Hayter BRISTOL, Va. – The Reverend Earl Lee Hayter, age 85, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2004, in the Vanderbilt Medical Center, Nashville. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nora Bays Hayter; three children, Brenda Hopkins and husband, Jerry Nashville, Jerry Hayter and wife Lisa and Melba Taylor and husband Tony, all of Bristol Virginia, and three grandchildren. Margaret Honaker HONAKER – Margaret Elizabeth "Betty" Price Honaker, age 89, of the Big A Mountain section, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2004, in a Lebanon hospital. Born Sept. 11, 1914, in Honaker, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Myrtie Honaker Price. She was the oldest member of the Bethany Baptist Church on Big A Mountain, Va.; she had been a member of the church for 70 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Paul Henry Honaker; one daughter Mandy Lovis, one granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Honaker, one daughter-in-law, Rita Austin Honaker, one son-in-law, Harold Hess, two sisters, Elgie Wolford and Doshia Peevey, and three brothers, Banner Price, Taze Price and Douglas Price. He was a retired electrician with Kress Electric and a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea. Mr. Kress had accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. A Scottish Rite Mason, he was member of Cherokee Lodge 728 F&AM. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen B. Lucille Meade CASTLEWOOD – Lucille Meade, 78, died Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at Maple Grove Health Care Center, Lebanon. She was born in Big Stone Gap, daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes Callahan Ledford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Meade. Mrs. Meade was a member of Baker Ridge Church, Castlewood. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Meade of Castlewood; one son, Stoney Meade of Chandler, Texas; two sisters, Jean Kindle of Kingsport and Cora Lee (Pat) Wise of Lebanon; one brother, Ralph Ledford of Fontana, Calif.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Born in Wilder, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry Forrest and Rittie Thompson Combs and the widow of Howard Kyle Musick. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Jack, Henry and Roger Combs, and sisters, Bessie Willis, Dallas Amburgey, Beatrice Amburgey, Irene Hall, Phyllis Combs, Patsy York and Peggy Addley. Anna was the beloved sister of Doris Combs McGoldrick and husband Ed of Rutledge, Tenn., and the precious aunt of Bruce, Toni, Traci and Julei Compton and Zoe Howell, all of Richlands. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, Fred York, Rockford, Ill., and Don Musick, Bristol Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Scarlette Baker, Lebanon, Wilma Sutherland, of Illinois, Delphia Combs, Cleveland, Va., and Pauline Vickers, Kingsport; special nieces, Delores Combs, Bristol Tennessee, and Beverly Smith, Cleveland, and all other loving nieces and nephews. Honoring Anna’s request, cremation and entombment will be at Forest Hills Memory Gardens in Abingdon. A celebration of Anna’s life will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2004, from 2-4 p.m. in the Combs Funeral Service Chapel in Lebanon.
