Barbara Hull Brown WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Barbara Hull Brown, 67, of Palm Beach Gardens, passed away at her sister’s home on Thursday, March 25, 2004, in West Palm Beach, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Born Dec. 1, 1936, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Russell James and Annie Carpenter Hull. She was a 1954 graduate of Newton Conover High School and was an interior designer. She was a resident of Bristol Tennessee during the late 50s and early 60s and was employed by Raytheon during that time. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Janice Hull and Richard L. Teufel of West Palm Beach; niece, Candy Butler of Mobile, Ala., and nephew, Randy Teufel of Lexington Park, Md. A photo collage of Barbara and her family and friends will be on view at Willis- Reynolds Funeral Home on Thursday, April 1, after noon, and Friday morning. Mervin Benton Casey LEBANON – Mervin Benton Casey, 64, of the Hansonville community, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tenn. Born July 15, 1939, in Russell County, the son of the late Garnett B. Casey and the late Gertie Lee Helton Casey, he was a lifelong resident of Russell County. He was a U.S. Army veteran with nine years and six months of service. He spent 19 months in Vietnam during the war. He worked several years for the Vencill Corp. in Lebanon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death a nephew, Mark Shannon Mims, Gerald Wayne Casey, and a very close friend, Kathleen Taylor. Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Marlene Casey Linkous and Adam J. Linkous, Cleveland; three grandchildren, Raymond, Ryan and Rachel Linkous; his sister, Vivian Ann Casey Mims and husband Luther E. Mims, Lebanon, and a nephew, Larry E. Mims, Swords Creek, Va. He was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Bristol Tennessee, to the late Samuel and Mamie Moore Grubb. He was a retired truck driver for Bristol Builders and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Landmark Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jacob Tyler "Peanut" Grubb. He is survived by wife, Hazel Barr Grubb; daughter, Kathy M. Kilby CHILHOWIE – Darrell Don Kilby, 70, died Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at his home. He retired from the Brunswick Corporation after 40 years of service. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Little Rock Baptist Church, treasurer of the church for 32 years and served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Clyde Carol Baldwin Kilby and Tracy Howard Kilby, and one brother, Charles Kilby. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marie Thomas Kilby; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Erma and D.I. Blevins, Brenda K. and Zane Sauls and Mary Etta and Douglas Cress; one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Louise Kilby; one sister-in-law, Pat Kilby; also several nieces and nephews. Born Nov. 30, 1936, in Dickenson County, a daughter of the late Bill Mann and the late Cora Lambert Mann, she had lived in Lebanon the past 30 years. She was the wife of the late Hobert T. Kiser and a former employee of Lebanon Apparel Corp. Pauline was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles T. Kiser, three brothers, Evans Mann, Sampson Mann and Walter Mann, and two sisters, Leathie Winebarger and Nell Neese. Survivors include a daughter, Tammy K.
