Mr. Booher was a native of the Bristol area, and had lived in the Norwood area for the past 30 years. He was a machinist, was of the Baptist faith, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Morelock ABINGDON – Mrs. Tammy Carrier Morelock, 42, went to be with her Lord Friday, April 16, 2004, in Johnston Memorial Hospital after a four year courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Bristol and lived there until 1972, when her family moved to Abingdon. Tammy accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of twelve, and she was a member of Abingdon Baptist Church. She was a 1979 graduate of Abingdon High School and a summa cum laude graduate of Western Carolina University in 1983. Tammy moved to Greeneville, Tenn., following college, and she and her husband Roy married on May 20, 1989. Tammy was employed as director of medical records at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. In 2001, the family moved to Abingdon, where Tammy was working as site manager and medical coding specialist for Health Information Associates at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She was a member of American Health Information Management Association. Tammy enjoyed tennis and watching her daughter, Lauren, play sports. Tammy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Scott Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. E.L. "Pete" Carrier Sr. She is survived by her husband, Roy D. Morelock of Abingdon; one daughter, Lauren Danielle Morelock of the home; her parents, E.L. Born Nov. 22, 1922, in Russell County, a son of the late Drayton Musick and Laura Maxfield Musick, he was the husband of the late Mallie Musick. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a retired construction worker and farmer. He was a member of the Weavers Creek Baptist Church. Sturgill BRISTOL, Tenn. – Agnes Beatrice Sturgill died Friday, April 16, 2004, at Wellmont Hospice House from complications resulting from a stroke. She was born in Dungannon, Va., one of the twelve children of Lilburn and Suzann Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, King Sturgill Jr., two grandchildren, Aaron Matthew Sturgill and SuzAnn Beatrice Sturgill, one great-granddaughter, Christina Grace Evans, five sisters and five brothers. Mr. and Mrs. Sturgill were married March 29, 1936, in Clintwood and lived in Dante, Va., for several years before moving to Bristol in 1941. She was a longtime member of the Bristol congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She took great joy in her family over the years, was an avid cook and gardener, and will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Sturgill of Fairfax, Va., Judy Carol Sturgill-Morris of Bristol Tennessee and Karen Gaye Sturgill Phillippi of Bristol Tennessee; four sons, Ray Douglas Sturgill of Earl, N.C., Bobby Eugene Sturgill of Knoxville, Jerry Allen Sturgill of Nashville and Gary King Sturgill of Old Hickory, Tenn.; a brother, Roscoe Osborne of Kingsport; 16 loving grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, April 18, 2004, at the graveside in Glenwood Cemetery, with Mr. Ron Yelle officiating. Margaret Whitaker BRISTOL, Va. – Funeral services for Margaret Lois Blaylock Whitaker will be held 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2004, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. R. Michael Hubble officiating. The burial will follow in Moore Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Ketchum, Jonathan Fleenor, Doug Fleenor, Paul Williams, Tony Shaver and Lester Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Burt Banks, Dr. Kermit Lowry Jr., Dr. Pierre Istfan and Dr. Doug Green.
