Born on June 5, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Ollie and Georgia Townes Ervin. She grew up in Dante, Va., and spent most of her life in Castlewood. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Straight Hollow Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward M. Anderson on June 5, 1947, a dearly loved son-in-law, William Lawrence James, sisters, Marie Howington, Nancy Taylor and Evelyn King Meade, and brothers, Jim Ervin, Bill Ervin and John Ervin. Surviving are daughter, Barbara James, Kingsport; granddaughters, Vickie James Fields, Blountville, and Dr. Michelle James Arney, Wise; grandson, Michael Edward James, U.S. Navy, and wife Angila Hobbs James, Jacksonville, Fla. She was a very active and devoted member of the Fellowship Chapel, where she loved to sing in the choir. Mrs. Keen was the co- owner of Benny’s Pipe and Muffler. Phillippi, age 81, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2004, in the Wellmont Hospice House. Mr. Phillippi was an elder in the Bristol Tennessee congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a native and lifelong resident of the Bristol area, and was retired from Flav-O-Rich Dairy after nearly 40 years of service. He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Gilmer Phillippi. Mr. Phillippi is survived by one daughter, Diane Robinette and husband Alan of Bristol Tennessee; three sons, Grant Phillippi of Johnson City, Marcus Phillippi and wife Gaye of Bristol Tennessee and Blake Phillippi and wife Patricia of Bristol Virginia; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Robinette Green; seven grandsons, Spencer Phillippi, Ross Phillippi, Steve Robinette, Derrick Phillippi, Tyler Phillippi, Drew Phillippi and Kevin Phillippi; three sisters, Virginia Trammell, Margaret Phipps and Sharon Phillippi, and one brother, Paul Phillippi.
