He was a retired coal truck driver. Mr. Colley was preceded in death by his wife, Onie Mae Stacy Colley in 1976. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, three grandchildren, one sister and one brother. Deel VANSANT, Va. – General P. Deel, age 83, of Route 2, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late James and Pricey Mullins Deel. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one child, Terry Charles, two brothers, Richard Deel and Christopher Deel, and four sisters, Nancy Deel, Thelma Deel, Anna L. Deel and Helen Keene. Faulks William Edward Faulks, age 60, a resident of Greystone Health Care in Blountville and former resident of Leisure Park Towers, died Friday, May 14, 2004, at Wellmont Hospice House. He was born July 5, 1943, in Bristol Virginia, a son of the late Arthur and Janie Swartz Faulks. A lifelong resident of Bristol, he was a former employee of Industrial Decking and Roofing of Bristol Virginia, and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was very devoted and passionate to her family and friends. Born in Hawkins County, he had lived most of his life in Kingsport and Blountville. He retired in 1976 from Eastman Kodak Company, after 38 years service as a maintenance foreman. Mr. Smiley was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. He loved gardening and woodworking and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Preceding him in death were his parents, Sam and Emma Smiley, and his wife of 63 years, Cynthia Nunley Smiley. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Larry Fannon, Kingsport; two grandchildren, Brian Fannon and Darlene Shannon and husband Darin, all of Knoxville; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Fannon; one great-grandson, Taylor Shannon; one sister, Belva McKenzie, Kingsport; two nieces and two nephews.
