Ivan Rodger Clark Sr. ABINGDON – Mr. Ivan Rodger Clark Sr., age 61, entered into eternal peace Saturday, May 22, 2004, in Johnston Memorial Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Before becoming disabled, Rodger was employed with Valleydale Packers and Bristol Metals, Bristol Tennessee. He was a member of the Kingsway Baptist Church, Bristol Virginia, attended Hamilton High School, Mendota, Va., and was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Octavia Clark, and brothers, Gordon, Fred and Henry Monroe. After becoming disabled, Rodger still loved to hunt and fish. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Jayne Warren Clark; daughter and son-in- law, Denise and Earl Emerson, Ridgeway, Va.; two sons, Ivan Rodger Clark Jr. and wife Tammy Clark, Gate City, and Denny Clark and girlfriend Judy Darnell, Abingdon; sister, Leona Kinnick and husband Ralph Clark, Rockmart, Ga.; special sister-in-law, Linda Clark, Cincinnati; grandsons, Matthew and Logan Emerson; special grandson, Zack "George" Clark; granddaughter, Lorie Gibson; special neighbors, Janice Davenport and Connie Crusenberry; three aunts, Elizabeth "Lib" Caudill, Ila Humphreys and Mae Parris, all of Meadowview; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Gail Warren; special nephew and his wife, Fred and Vicki Clark, and their children, Nicole and Timothy, Spartanburg, S.C., and several other nieces and nephews. The funeral service was conducted Sunday, May 23, 2004, at 8:00 p.m. in the Farris Funeral Chapel. Crum ERWIN, Tenn. – Betty Joyce Garland Crum, 36, of 403 Vinton Ave., died Friday, May 21, 2004, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center, following an automobile accident. A native of Johnson City, she was a daughter of Freddy Crum Sr. of Erwin and Betty Joyce Thacker of Crofton, Ky. Ms. Garland was a waitress and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Margaret Branch and Cleo Wayne and Anise Lava Parsons, and an uncle, Wade Crum.
