Phyllis Blankenship HURLEY, Va. – Phyllis Irene Justus Blankenship, 56 years of age, of the Brushy Fork area, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at Buchanan General Hospital, following a brief illness. Born in Buchanan County, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Kelsa Smith Justus. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and attended Word Evangelistic Outreach Church. She was an employee of Buchanan County School System, with 15 years of service at Hurley Middle School. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and a homemaker. Mrs. Blankenship is survived by her husband of 39 years, Charles E. Blankenship, Hurley. She is also survived by four sons, Chuck and wife Sandy Blankenship, Green Cove Springs, Fla., Mark and wife Frank Blankenship, Keystone Heights, Fla., Jeff and wife Roberta Blankenship, Vansant, Va., and Timmy and wife Marcy Blankenship, Hurley; five sisters, Betty Justus, Hurley, Brenda Johnson, Dayton, Tenn., Pam Cole, Louisiana, Trish Hicks, Richlands, and Nina Justus, Wisconsin, and three brothers, Sammy Justus, Pikeville, Ky., Darrell Justus, Harman, Va., and Ricky Justus, Chicago. Also, she is survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Toney, and three brothers, Eurmil, Roger and Teddy Justus. Grundy Funeral Home of Grundy is in charge of all arrangements. Gilmer Bolinsky CASTLEWOOD – Gilmer Bolinsky, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2004, at his residence in Castlewood. He was born on Oct. 8, 1924, in Imboden, Va., son of the late Joe and Ida Durham Bolinsky. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Air Force and was an honorary member of Disabled American Veterans. He retired from Clinchfield Coal Company after 37 years and was a member of the U.M.W.A. He was a member of St. Paul Assembly of God, where he served as a deacon, trustee, Royal Ranger commander and district Royal Ranger commander. He loved the Lord, loved people and had an influence on young people’s lives by the Christian life he lived. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Bolinsky and Joe Bolinsky Jr. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, whom he married in 1945, Lucille Smith Bolinsky; one daughter, Cathy King and husband Andy of Richmond, Ky.; one son, Eddie Joe Bolinsky and wife Becky of Salem, Va.; six grandchildren, Kelly Ramey of Austin, Texas, Brian Bolinsky and wife April of Apex, N.C., Sarah Ramey Lawson of Lexington, Ky., Brandon Bolinsky of Salem, Brett Bolinsky of Salem and Derek King of Richmond, Ky.; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Hillman Bolinsky of Abingdon, and several nieces and nephews. Born Sept. 25, 1936, in Warrenton, Va., she was the daughter of the late Albert Wesley and Louise Snodgrass Francis. She was a member and ordained elder of Royal Oak Presbyterian Church and was an accomplished artist and calligrapher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kathy Kirby. She had lived most of her life in the Bristol area, was a housewife and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Stine was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Stine Jr., and by two brothers, David and Eugene Humphrey. Mrs. Stine is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dan R.
