She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Gillespie, a former member of the Saltville Alkali baseball team, and second husband, Hugh Cisco. Mrs. Cisco was a member of the Main Street Christian Church and belonged to the Saltville Senior Citizens. Survivors: two daughters, Mellie Gillespie Richards and husband G.C. of Haw River, N.C., and Erma Gillespie Graham and husband Bill of Macon, Ga.; one brother, Oliver Surber, Portland, Maine; three sisters, Mary Yarvis, Gary, Ind., Lemmie DeBusk, Saltville, and Emily Haga, Saltville; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Castlewood, daughter of the late George and Bessie Skeens Sexton, and was the last survivor of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Cosker Couch, one son, Cosker L. "Bill" Couch, one daughter, Eva Couch Cox, one granddaughter, Judy Boone, one daughter-in-law, Marguerite Couch, and one son-in-law, Buford Jessee. She is survived by two daughters, Lois Jessee of Lebanon and Jean Ward of Richmond; one son, Douglas Couch of Castlewood; nine grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Culbertson ELIZABETHTON – Joseph D. "Scooter" Culbertson, age 46, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 28, 2004, at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tenn. He was a member of the Sinking Spring Baptist Church and later attended West Highland Church. He was owner and operator of Scooter and Wife Dry Wall Co. in Hickory, N.C., for the past 16 years. He graduated from Fort Campbell in 1976, while serving in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Elsie Culbertson, and an infant brother. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Deb Culbertson; two daughters, Kristy Lee Culbertson of Bristol Virginia, and Angie Meyer of Hickory; one son, Shawn Meyer of Hickory; two sisters, Debbie Salyer Kaywood of Blountville and Lisa Fann of Hickory; three grandchildren, Tyler Herold of Elizabethton and Heaven Meyer and Jonathon Meyer of Claremont, N.C.; his mother-in-law, Barbara Manring of Elizabethton, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Sharon Blevins of Anderson Ind. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was the son of the late Arthur and Ida Mae Paris Cullop and was a native of Washington County, Va. He was retired from Raytheon and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II. Mr. Cullop was a charter member of Valley Pike Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, elder, Sunday School superintendent and was on the Board of Trustees. "Peanut" Fogleman, age 82, a resident of 19411 Mercedes Drive, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born in Russell County, Va., the son of the late Arthur Jackson and Naomi Mutter Fogleman. He was retired from American Electric Power and a current employee of the Campbell Funeral Home. He was a member of Greendale Chapel, where he served as an elder, trustee, Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent for over 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1994. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur J. Fogleman, and a sister, Eula Mae Harmon. Mr. Fogleman was the last family member of his generation.
