She was a loving wife, a precious caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great-grandmother. Mrs. Bolling was a wonderful neighbor and friend to all. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Rufus A. Bolling, two sons, Keys D. Bolling and Jackie Rufus Bolling, and two grandsons, Rufus Clayton Stidham and Little Johnny Rufus Salyer. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Vernoy W. and Edith Bolling, Gordie and Mary Bolling and Thomas C. and Lois Bolling, all of Wise; five daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Bill Stidham, Norton, Dolly and Darrell Dean, Radford, Va., Peggy and Orville Jones and Betty L. Cooper BRISTOL, Va. – Earnest Conley Cooper, age 69, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the Wellmont Hospice House. He was born in Virginia and a son of the late Alfred F. and Sarah Dean Cooper. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean conflict and was a member of the VFW. Mr. Cooper was retired from Raytheon. He was a member of Flatwoods United Methodist Church, but attended Belle Meadows Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Rita King Cooper; one son, Rufus Conley Cooper and wife Veronica of Blountville; one sister, Helen Foster of Rose Hill, Va.; four grandchildren, Christy Moles and husband Jason, Jennifer Cooper, Keith Conley and Huntre Ellen; four great-grandchildren, Morgen, Logen, Luke and Ethan, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He dedicated his entire life to serving the Lord and his family. He was a native of Bristol Virginia and was the son of the late Marshall and Charmie Mumpower Rutter. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving in the Ferrying Command. He retired from the furniture industry with more than 50 years of service, having served in management in Virginia and North Carolina. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hickory. He was also an active member in the Rotary Club and in the Masonic Lodge in Marion. "Bob" Sandefur, age 79, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at the Valley Healthcare Center. He was born and had lived in Saltville, but lived most of his life in Washington County, Va. He was a former bus driver for the Fuller Bus Line and had worked 21 years as a bus driver for the Washington County School System. Bob had attended the Antioch Baptist Church and was a member of the McCabe Lodge 56 I.O.O.F. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ellen Pierce Sandefur; a daughter, Deborah Sandefur of Bristol Virginia; five brothers, James Sandefur of Columbus, Ohio, John Sandefur of Glade Spring, A.D. She was lifelong resident of Buchanan County, a member of Breaks Church of Christ and was a former employee of Buchanan County School System. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and a homemaker. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord (Jack) Wilson, Feb. 22, 1992. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Alma Blackburn, four sisters and two brothers.
