Harrison BRISTOL, Tenn. – Louise Virginia Harrison, age 83, of 908 Virginia Ave., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 30, 2004, at her residence. Miss Harrison was born on June 16, 1920, in Sullivan County to the late John Leonard and Mollie Royston Harrison. She had lived all her life in the Bristol area, was retired from the United Telephone Company with 35 years of service and was a member of the Virginia Ave Baptist Church. Miss Harrison also was active in the XYZ Club of the church and was a part of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. Puckett GLADE SPRING – Mr. Everett Matthew Puckett passed from this life after a lengthy illness, May 30, 2004, at the home of his son, Edward A. Puckett and wife Scarlett. He was born July 2, 1910, to William and Mary Jane Puckett, making his life here 93 years, 10 months and 28 days. One son, Bobby Lee, preceded him in death, Oct. 29, 2003. Everett loved and attended the Old Primitive Baptist Church. He appreciated those who came to sing to him the old hymns in the last two months. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Lillie Belle Mumpower Puckett; and a sister, Bertha Rose Louthian, Marion. Everett and Lillie Belle have three surviving children, Edward Alvin Puckett and wife Scarlett, Glade Spring, Doris Ann Cuddy and husband, Jimmy and Frances Jean Malcolm and husband Gene, all of Bristol Virginia. In this union are nine grandchildren, David (Janice) Malcolm, Matt Puckett, Eric (Mandy) Puckett, Sandra (Eric) Joines, Laneer (Crissy) Cuddy, Christopher (Judy) Puckett, Michael Puckett, Amy Malcolm and Bradley Malcolm. There are eight great-grandchildren, Jared Malcolm, Kimberly Puckett, Dakota Puckett, Eric Puckett II, Tyler Puckett, Ethan Puckett, Lancer Cuddy Jr. and Levi Joines. Raines GRUNDY – Samuel Marshall (Sonny) Raines, 75 years of age, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2004, at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center following a short illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late W. P. (Bill) and Virgie Hurley Raines. He was a member of the Grundy Church of Christ and was one of the 37 original members that re-organized the church in 1941, after a tragic fire. He was a 1948 graduate of Grundy High School and attended Milligan College. He was a member of Sandy Valley Lodge 17 A.F. & A.M. of Grundy, a member of the Kazim Temple in Roanoke and a member of the Buchanan County Chamber of Commerce. He was president of Raines, Inc., and a former owner of Raines Motor Sales. He played football for Grundy High School and Milligan College. He was a grandson of the late Samuel R. (Pa) Hurley, president and founder of Mountain Mission School. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Stiltner Raines of Grundy; one daughter, Barbara and her husband John Fleenor III of Grundy; one son, W.C. (Bill) and his wife Susan Raines of Grundy; three grandsons, Jordan Raines Fleenor, Christopher Colby Raines and Samuel James Raines, all of Grundy; and three sisters, Pauline Tylenda Kennedy of Harrisburg, Pa., Joan Buchanan of Tazewell, Tenn., and Mary Lynn Neeley of Grundy. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Ted Kenneth White and wife Louise Ricks White, Frank Jackson "Jack" White and George Dean "Buddy" White; two brothers, Walter Routh and Charles Routh; and by six sisters, Elizabeth Routh, Rosalee Balthis, Oneta Pittman, Thelma Gunning, Betty Grant and Margaret Cantrell.
