Shirley I. Skeen Addison, 67, of 22179 Log Cabin Way, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Addison and her family are in the care of Oakley-Cook Funeral Home, 2223 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, Tenn. Doris L. Bralley Doris Littreal Bralley, a very loving wife and devoted mother, went to heaven on June 3, 2004. She was born in Wythe County, daughter of the late William S. and Lorna Poole Littreal. She was a member of the Rural Retreat UMC. Mrs. Bralley was a graduate of the first class of nursing at Wytheville Community College in 1970. She retired in 1990 from Southwestern State Mental Health Institute in Marion, after 20 years of employment as a registered nurse. Her greatest joys were reading and spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Bralley; two sons, Stephen C. "Steve" Bralley and William A. "Bill" Bralley; one daughter-in-law, Jennifer Bralley, all of Rural Retreat; three grandchildren, Andrew Craig, Jessica Leigh and Christopher Matthew Bralley, all of Rural Retreat; two sisters, Donna Ogle of Austinville and Frances Huffman of Dayton, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 5, 2004, at 3 p.m. in the Lindsey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. James Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Rosie Mae Cuddy MEADOWVIEW – Mrs. Rosie Mae Wallace Cuddy, age 69, went to Heaven Wednesday, June 2, 2004, in the Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cuddy was a native of Ashe County, N.C., and moved to Washington County, Va., as a small child. She was a member of the Washington Springs United Methodist Church and attended the Blackwell Chapel Union Church. She was graduate of Glade Spring High School and was preceded in death her parents, five brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her husband, Bobby Cuddy, Meadowview; four sons and their wives, Tommy and Dina Cuddy, Roy, Utah, Rick and Debbie Cuddy, Meadowview, David and Stephanie Cuddy, Fairlawn, Va., and Bill and Kim Cuddy, Bill is stationed with the U.S. Marines in Iraq; two brothers and their wives, Ted and Patsy Wallace and Lonnie and Christine Wallace, all of Glade Spring; sister-in-law, Irene Wallace, Abingdon; brother-in-law, Bill Dodge, Waynesboro, Va.; grandchildren, Angie Cuddy, Bob Cuddy, Andy Cuddy, Katie Cuddy and Mikala Cuddy, and several nieces and nephews. Matthew Deel KEELING, Va. – Matthew Steven Deel, age 17, passed away Friday, May 28, 2004 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Formerly of Dickenson County, he was the son of Lloyd Steven Deel and Tina Marie Compton. Mr. Deel had lived in Pittsylvania County in the Keeling community for the past 14 years, having moved there from Haysi. He was a Junior in Dan River High School, where he was a member of the JROTC, with high rank of sergeant first class. Mr. Deel was employed by McDonalds. He was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church. Matthew was a compassionate and very devoted friend. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Alfred and Linda Compton. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Trinity Aaron Deel of the home; a sister, Candice Marie Deel of the home, and paternal grandparents, Clovis and Kathleen Deel of Birchleaf, Va. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at Haysi Funeral Home, with Chris Comer and Junior Deel officiating. Burial will follow in the Deel Family Cemetery, Birchleaf. Mary Anne Freeman WISE – Mary Anne Freeman, 90, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Norton. She was a retired registered nurse, a former employee of the Wise County Health Department and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Norton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Chester Freeman, and a son, Johnny Mack Freeman. Surviving are a son, Chester C. Freeman and wife Alice of Davidsonville, Md., and a granddaughter, Mary Ann Freeman. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Norton, with the Father Timothy Drake officiating. "Jim" Fulkerson, 80, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, from the Cambridge House in Bristol Tennessee. He was welcomed by his wife, Ruth Tate Fulkerson, his parents, John A. and Leslie Callahan Fulkerson, two sisters, Sarah Belew and Dorothy Johnson, and his brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Iris Fulkerson. Mr. Fulkerson had lived most of his life in Bristol and was retired from Time- DC. He was an ordained minister and did pulpit supply in the area. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bluff City. Survivors include his daughters, Carol Clatterbuck and her husband Jim of Piney Flats, Edith Jones and her husband Jerry of Blountville and Donna Fulkerson of Bluff City; a son, Donald Fulkerson and his wife Melanie of Atlanta; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Faye and Sidney Farris. Ronnie Lee Goff POUNDING MILL, Va. – Ronnie Lee "Rink" Goff, 57 years of age, formerly of Harman, Va., passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol Tennessee. Born in Buchanan County, Oct. 25, 1946, he was the son of the late Velma "Curley" Goff and Pauline Elswick Goff. He was a employee of Wal-Mart as a transportation driver and a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Goff, and one sister, Velma Goff. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Brenda Carol Bullock Goff of Pounding Mill; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Shea Deel Eddfield and husband Darrell of Swainsboro, Ga., and Amber Dawn Deel Price and husband Larry of Richlands; two brothers, Jimmie R. Goff and wife Roberta of Harman and Gene Goff and wife Donna of Grundy. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Jackson Eddfield, Jillian Eddfield and Jayden Price, and several nieces and nephews. She was a native of Washington County, Va., and a lifelong resident of the Abingdon area. She was a retired school teacher with the Washington County Virginia School System, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Booklovers Club and the Pilot Club. Mrs. Stiles was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and was a past chairperson of the Central School Board for the Town of Abingdon. She was a member of the Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church and had served as the treasurer of her church circle. She was the widow of Robert E. Stiles and was preceded in death by a son, William H. Stiles II. Survivors include one son, Robert B. Stiles of Minneapolis; a former daughter- in-law, Connie Stiles Davenport of Greeneville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Shana Georgia Stiles of Washington, D.C., and two grandsons, Robert Stiles and William Stiles, both of Minneapolis.
